Wenzetu wana hali mbaya.
sasa ulikuwa wataka upewe bia bure ama nini? average beer bottle price yake ni $2 equivalent of Ksh 200. na nini mbaya price ya matatu ikiwa Ksh 50 depending on the distance? plus you get free Wi-fi, Led tv screens on every seat? Btw, i hope you saw Bamburi, one of Mombasa's suburbs and an area you get all the 5Star hotels that can't be unmatched by your pathetic hotels. plus yeah, the biggest public beach too. huko ndio raha yote hupatikana lakini kwa vile ulikuwa hauna pesa, ulihangaika sana na kuteseka. bora ungeenda sabasaba ukaombe pesa kama watanzania wenzako hufanya Mombasa

Immigration officials arrest 11 beggars from Tanzania
FRIDAY MARCH 3 2017

Immigration officials in Nakuru have unearthed a syndicate involved in the influx of beggars from Tanzania and other East African countries to the town.

The beggars are used by the syndicate to collect money from the public.

Acting on a tip-off, police and the immigration officials on Wednesday evening rounded up 11 beggars.

The 11 included disabled men and women aged between 25 and 35 years

According to an immigration official who led the crackdown, the Tanzanian beggars were picked up from the town’s main street - Kenyatta Avenue.

“There must be someone organising the entry of these beggars into the town centre.

“It appears that they are being dropped at specific [points] very early in the morning and picked up late in the evening,” said the official.

FROM MUSOMA

Those arrested are said to be from Musoma in Tanzania.

Police have launched investigations with the aim of arresting those behind the human trafficking syndicate, Nakuru police chief Joshua Omukata said.

“The beggars have been staying in the country illegally,” said Mr Omukata.

Those arrested were taken to court where Senior Resident Magistrate Joe Mkutu Omido ordered their deportation.

Residents and members of the civil society have in the past complained about the increasing number of street children and beggars in Nakuru Town.

They argued that their presence was an eyesore and compromised the security of visitors coming to the town.

Safaricom attendant who touched customers' hearts meets Bob Collymore

A picture of Safaricom attendant Pauline Shalimo assisting William Kisumo at the Nakuru shop has been doing rounds on social media. /COURTESY

Mhudumu wa Safaricom atuzwa kwa utu wake !

Ms Pauline Muganda Shamola had trained as an air hostess, a field she worked in for a while before joining Safaricom as a customer service officer.

She says she felt humbled by the congratulatory messages she received after the video of her helping a crippled beggar went viral on social media.

Mr William Kisumo, a beggar from Tanzania too was grateful of her gesture.

He had gone to the Safaricom in Nakuru shop to buy and register a line to enable him send money back home.

He said he was a trained shoemaker and had an ailing child back in Tanzania forcing him to travel to Kenya to seek alms.

Racket issuing fake university papers unearthed

MONDAY MARCH 20 2017

A racket that involves production of fake and backdated degree certificates has been unearthed.

The degrees are from Inoorero University which was shut by higher education regulator in 2015 and granted a two years to enable its continuing students to finish their programmes after it was declared bankrupt.

FAKE

Behind the scheme is a top administrator with the university who is now under investigation by the Directorate of Criminal Investigation (DCI).

The investigation is as a result of concerns raised by an airline in Africa operating in Nairobi which discovered that one of its top employee’s in accounts had a ‘suspicious’ degree certificate.

And to compound the situation, another graduate from the university was found with a fake degree certificate.
