United win twin appeal
Manchester United has been successful in appealing Fabio da Silva's booking at Barnsley on the grounds of mistaken identity.
Referee Chris Foy mistakenly showed Fabio a yellow card in the latter stages of the Reds' 2-0 win at Oakwell after the full-back's twin brother, Rafael, had committed a foul.
The Football Association have now confirmed the booking will be removed from Fabio's record and instead applied to Rafael's. It's Rafael's first caution of the season.
Last Friday Sir Alex confirmed United had lodged an appeal with the FA but admitted he hadn't noticed on the night that Foy had made a mistake.
"I had no idea," he said. "It was the players who picked up on it. I think it's right to appeal the decision. If we get to January and Fabio reaches five bookings [and receives a subsequent suspension] because of this incident then we'd feel a bit aggrieved.
