Morning Reflection (QT)
Introduction.
As king, God rules the whole universe which he created.
On earth, God rules the nations. In this psalm, God is celebrated as one who rules with righteousness and justice.
Reflection.
In this psalm, the writer encourages us to “remember what the holy God has done” and to give God thanks.
What memories do you have of what God has done for you? For what will you thank God today?
Pray.
Lord God Almighty, you are my king. Reign in my heart forever.
May the light of your love shine on me. I praise your glorious name and thank you for _____ _.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Psalms 97:1
The LORD is king; let the earth rejoice; let the many islands be glad.
Psalms 97:2
Cloud and darkness surround him; justice and right are the foundation of his throne.
Psalms 97:3
Fire goes before him, consuming his foes on every side.
Psalms 97:4
His lightening illumines the world; the earth sees and trembles.
Psalms 97:5
The mountains melt like wax before the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
Psalms 97:6
The heavens proclaim his justice; all peoples see his glory.
Psalms 97:7
All who serve idols are put to shame, who glory in worthless things; all gods bow down before him.
Psalms 97:8
Zion hears and is glad, and the daughters of Judah rejoice because of your judgments, O LORD.
Psalms 97:9
For you, LORD, are the Most High over all the earth, exalted far above all gods.
Psalms 97:10
You who love the LORD, hate evil, he protects the souls of the faithful, rescues them from the hand of the wicked.
Psalms 97:11
Light dawns for the just, and gladness for the honest of heart.
Psalms 97:12
Rejoice in the LORD, you just, and give thanks at the remembrance of his holiness.
