Watanzania waaswa kununua filamu halisi

MKURUGENZI wa Zanzibar International Film Festival (ZIFF), Prof. Martin Mhando, amewataka Watanzania kujitokeza na kununua kazi halisi ili kukuza soko na uchumi wa nchi. Prof. Mhando alitoa wito huo jana alipokuwa akizungumza na waandishi wa habari ndani ya ukumbi wa Ngome Kongwe mjini Zanzibar.
Alisema kuwa tayari wasanii wa Tanzania wamewewza kupiga hatua katika kutoa filamu mbalimbali, ambazo nyingi kati ya hizo zina mafundisho.
"Tumetoka mbali katika tasnia hii ya filamu kwa nchi yetu, hivyo kwa kuwa hii ni ajira rasmi, Watanzania tujitokeze kununua nakala halisi ili kukuza soko letu na filamu ziendelezee kukuza uchumi wa nchi yetu" alisema Prof. Mhando.
Mbali na hilo, pia alishahuri Tanzania kuundwe Kamisheni ya Filamu, ambayo itasaidia kuiletea nchi matunda mazuri, huku bodi ya filamu iliyoundwa ikiendelea kusimamia ushauri na kamati mbalimbali za maadili.
Pia alisema, kwa mwaka huu ZIFF imejipanga katika kuzipeleka filamu za Watanzania nje ya nchi ili kushiriki katika matamasha makubwa, ikiwemo tamasha la Afrika litakalofanyika nchini Bukinafaso Februari mwaka huu.
"Jumla ya filamu mbili zitakazoshinda leo (jana) kwenye tamasha hili dogo la ZIFF (Mini-Festival), zitaiwakilisha nchi kwenye tamasha la filam Afrika nchini Bukinafaso na bado tunaendelea na taratibu nyingine ili kuona filam zetu zinaonekana sehemu nyingi Duniani" alisema Prof. Mhando.
Aidha, kwa upande wake, Meneja Masoko wa Steps Entertainment, Ignatus Kambarage, aliwataka wananchi kujitokeza kununua nakala za filamu halisi ili kuweza kukuza vipato vya wasanii.
Alisema, ukinunua nakala halisi unaongeza kipato cha serikali na hata kwa wasanii na wananchi kwa ujumla.

Flora Mbasha afungua studio

MUIMBAJI mahiri wa nyimbo za Injili hapa nchini, Flora Mbasha, amefungua studio yake inayokwenda kwa jina la Flem. Kwa mujibu wa msanii huyo, Flem Studio iko Tabata Kimanga jijini Dar es Salaam na wamepania kutoa kazi zenye ubora wa uhakika na gharama nafuu.
Mbasha alisema katika studio hiyo wanarekodi Audio na Video katika viwango bora na gharama nafuu.

TIMU ya Taifa ya Tanzania Taifa Stars leo inaanza kutupa karata yake ya kwanza katika mashindano ya nchi za Ukanda wa Bonde la mto Nile na Ziwa Victoria Nile Basin , itakapovaana na Burundi Indamba Murugamba , kwenye Uwanja Taifa mjini Cairo, Misri. Stars inayonolewa na Mdenish Jan Poulsen ambaye aliungana na timu hiyo juzi majira ya saa 8 usiku, inavaana na Burundi ikiwa na kumbukumbu ya kuilaza mabao 2-0 wakati wa mashindano ya CECAFA Chalenji hivi karibuni jijini Dar es Salaam, yote yakipachikwa na Nurdini Bakari.
Katika hatua nyingine, nyota wawili wa Stars Rashid Gumbo na Athumani Machupa wanatarajiwa kukwea pipa leo kwenda jijini Cairo Misri kuungana na wenzao.
Kwa mujibu wa Mkurugenzi wa Ufundi wa Shirikisho la Soka Tanzania (TFF), Sunday Kayuni, wachezaji hao, daktari wa timu na viongozi watatu walikwama kuondoka juzi baada ya kutokea mkanganyiko wa majina katika tiketi zao.
Alisema, tiketi zilizokuwa zimetumwa zilikuwa zimechanganywa majina kwa wachezaji na viongozi hao hivyo kutofautiana na majina yaliyomo katika pasi zao za kusafiria, hali iliyoleta mkanganyiko na TFF kulazimika kuwasiliana na Shirikisho la Soka nchini Misri ili kuzifanyia marekebisho.
Aliwataja viongozi wanaondoka na timu hiyo ni aliyekuwa Makamu wa kwanza wa Rais wa TFF, Cresentius Magori, Idd Mshangama, Merrey Balabhou na dakari wa timu hiyo Dk. Nandi Mwankemwa.
Wakati Stars ikianza kampeni hiyo jioni, timu ya Taifa ya Kenya Harambee Stars mchana itakuwa na kibarua kigumu kwa kukumbuna na Sudan.

Aidha, Bwire aliongeza kuwa kikosi chao kinaendelea na mazoezi ya kujiandaa na mzunguko wa pili wa ligi kuu bara unaotarajiwa kuanza kutimua vumbi Januari 22.
Alisema, timu yake imejipanga kufanya vema katika mzunguko huo wa lala salama ili kuhakikisha inaumaliza kwa kuwa katika nafasi za juu.

Wizara yachelewesha ratiba Ligi Kuu bara

SHIRIKISHO la Soka Tanzania (TFF), limesema linasubiri maombi yake Wizara ya Habari, Vijana, Utamaduni na Michezo kuhusu maombi ya klabu kutumia Uwanja wa Taifa na Uhuru ili kuipanga upya ratiba ya Ligi Kuu Tanzania Bara mzunguko wa pili unaotarajiwa kuanza Januari 15 mwaka huu. Akizungumza na waandishi wa habari jijini Dar es Salaam jana, Mkurugenzi wa Ufundi wa Shirikisho hilo, Sunday Kayuni, alisema ratiba ya ligi hiyo ilikuwa imeishapangwa, lakini kutokana na klabu mbalimbali kuomba wizarani kutumia viwanja hivyo, imebidi waisimamishe kusubiri majibu ya wizara.
Kayuni alisema, pia wanatarajia kuichakachua ratiba iliyopo sasa ili iweze kuendana na mashindano mbalimbali yanayoihusu timu ya Taifa Taifa Stars , kwa kuwa baadhi ya timu zikiongozwa na Simba zina wachezaji watano na sheria inairuhusu timu kutokucheza baadhi ya mechi zake za Ligi Kuu.
"Simba ina wachezaji watano katika timu ya Taifa kufuatia kuongezwa kwa Rashidi Gumbo na kwa namna ilivyo, tutalazimika kuahirisha mechi zake za Ligi Kuu ili kutoa nafasi kwa wachezaji wake ambao wako na timu ya Taifa nchini Misri kurudi, kwa hiyo ilitusikumbane na adha ya kupangua ratiba wakati Ligi imeshaanza ni vema tukaipanga upya" alisema Kayuni.
Aidha, Kayuni alizitaka klabu mbalimbali za Ligi Kuu kuwa na subira wakati wakisubiri majibu ya Wizara kuhusu matumizi ya viwanja hivyo kwa klabu ambazo zilikuwa zimeomba kuvitumia kwa mechi zake za mzunguko wa pili.

Kimondo: Nipeni Cheka nimtulize jamani

Akizungumza na Mwandishi wa habari hizi kwa njia ya simu kutoka Kyela jana, Kimondo alisema kuwa amesikitika kusikia Mada Maugo amechapika kwa Cheka Januari mosi kwenye ukumbi wa PTA jijini Dar es Salaam.
Alisema kuwa ameumia sana kusikia hivyo, kwa sababu vipigo hivyo visivyokoma kutoka kwa Cheka vinazidi kuwashusha mabondia wote wa uzani huo nchini.
Kimondo alisema kuwa, yeye anaomba ajitokeze promota amuandalie pambano na Cheka popote pale na kwamba, fedha za pambano hilo zote apewe Cheka yeye hatachukua chochote.

Alisema kuwa, anasikitika kuona kila mara akiomba pambano na Cheka hapewi, badala yake wanapata nafasi hiyo watu goigoi ambao huambulia vichapo na kuzidi kumpandisha chati.

Wenger: Gunners only need central defender

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger says he is only considering a new central defender during the January transfer window.
Wenger says he may buy a player if Belgium international Thomas Vermaelen continues to struggle with an Achilles' injury that has kept him out of the team since August.
Wenger says that he is "just waiting to know more about him, and then at the end of January we will have to make a decision."
Arsenal is third in the Premier League ahead of Wednesday's match against second-place Manchester City.

Mancini faced with 'big problem'

Manchester City will be without David Silva and Mario Balotelli for Wednesday night's crucial Premier League encounter at Arsenal.
The pair have both been struck down by knee injuries, with Silva possibly out for two weeks.

"It is a big problem," said manager Roberto Mancini.
"Neither of them will be available."
Silva in particular will be a huge loss at the Emirates given his growing influence on the Blues in recent weeks.
"David has been an important player for us and has been doing well recently," said Mancini.
"Hopefully, he will be back for the Wolves game on January 15. Mario might be back for the FA Cup tie at Leicester on Sunday."
Mancini claimed that his side are still outsiders in what he accepts is now a five-team pursuit of the title.
City are joint top with neighbours Manchester United, although they have played two games more.
And Mancini, who has previously claimed that Chelsea would stroll to the championship, feels that City's inexperience in such situations could count against them.
"Arsenal, Chelsea, United and Tottenham all have more experience than us," he said.
"Probably one of those four teams will win the title.
"We just want to work, so we can improve and try to keep getting better."

Fulham pulled out of the Premier League relegation zone following a 3-0 win over depleted West Brom at Craven Cottage on Tuesday night.
Scott Carson made another high-profile mistake on the stroke of half-time to set Mark Hughes' men on course for victory.
Carson, whose blunder against Croatia contributed to England failing to qualify for Euro 2008, got both hands to Simon Davies' 30-yard drive on 45 but could only deflect the ball into his own net.

West Brom's new-look defence was then exposed after the break as Fulham cruised to a first home win in six attempts with headed goals from Clint Dempsey and Brede Hangeland.
While Fulham climbed above West Brom into 13th place to relieve some of the pressure on Hughes, the Baggies' slump continued.
A fifth consecutive defeat represented their worst run in six years and having been eighth before Christmas they now hover just two points above the relegation zone.
Manager Roberto Di Matteo welcomed Gonzalo Jara back from suspension while James Hurst and Gianni Zuiverloon also came into the back four.
Fulham were without goalkeeper Mark Schwarzer, who was away on international duty, and injured striker Andrew Johnson but that gave Diomansy Kamara a chance against his old club.
The Senegal striker almost blasted Fulham ahead in the opening minutes after a brilliant piece of control in the box.
Kamara pulled Chris Baird's long ball out of the air with a deft touch and turned to fire a low shot, which Carson did well to block.
West Brom had their moments in the first half and striker Peter Odemwingie forced Fulham keeper David Stockdale into action with a low deflected shot from the edge of the box.
But Fulham were on top of a lively encounter and the visitors' defence was struggling to contain Kamara, who cut inside Zuiverloon and laid the ball off for Dempsey.
The American went to ground in the box under a challenge from Youssuf Mulumbu but referee Martin Atkinson waved away Fulham's penalty appeals.
At the other end, Jerome Thomas escaped the Fulham defence with an angled run but his shot went straight at Stockdale and John Pantsil, whose mistake had led to the chance, cleared with an overhead kick.


Marek Cech went down injured after a challenge from Pantsil and had to be replaced by Nicky Shorey after half an hour.
While the Slovakian was off receiving treatment, Dempsey did well to ride two challenges and bring the ball down in the box but his shot was blocked.
West Brom's nervous defensive display continued. Hurst failed to deal with Pantsil's long cross, allowing the ball to fall into Davies' path but the Welsh midfielder's volley fizzed across goal and wide.
Damien Duff's deflected shot forced Carson to scramble after another poor West Brom clearance and from the subsequent corner Fulham should have taken the lead.
Hangeland climbed above Carson and the West Brom defence to meet Davies' corner but he planted his powerful head just wide - moments before taking the goalkeeper's attempted punch full in the face.
However, Davies' swerving shot put Fulham ahead in first-half stoppage time.
Mulumbu was controversially robbed of possession by Dickson Etuhu, who teed up Davies for a 25-yard drive which Carson deflected into his own net.
Davies' strike gave Fulham a real impetus and Duff came within inches of doubling their lead seven minutes into the second half when he was allowed to turn on the edge of the West Brom box.
Carson was relieved to see his low shot across goal skid just wide - but the feeling was only temporary.
Davies won Fulham a corner with a determined run down the left and then delivered the cross to the edge of the six-yard box where Dempsey planted his header past Carson.
Dempsey did well to keep his eye on the ball as it flashed past Hangeland's towering leap. A second warning about the Norwegian's aerial prowess that went unheeded.
And the next time Hangeland launched himself at a Davies corner, just nine minutes later, his timing and his aim were perfect.
No-one picked up Hangeland's late run and, at the third time of asking, he sailed through the air to meet Davies' corner to beat Carson with a powerful header from six yards.

Aquilani expected to stay at Juve

Juve have the option of turning Aquilani's spell into a long-term deal and the 26-year-old's representative, Franco Zavaglia, reckons the Bianconeri will honour their agreement with the Merseysiders.
Zavaglia told Radio Sportiva: "The release from Liverpool depends only on Juventus but I think there will be.
"Alberto is very, very happy in Turin and has found an environment where he can express himself."
Zavaglia believes the former Roma schemer benefited from his brief time at Anfield, adding: "The English experience has been good, it has enriched his international background."

Hodgson wants to mold own team

So tough has Hodgson's start to his Reds career been that rumours have circulated the club's American owners, New England Sports Ventures, are looking for a replacement.
Hodgson, though, is keen to point out he is still by and large working with the squad he inherited from former boss Rafa Benitez.
"I'm hoping that one day I will get a chance to stamp a little bit more of my authority and philosophy on the team by choosing some more of the players," he said.
"Although it's not often mentioned I've not been that active in the transfer market since I've been here.
"The players here have done exceptionally well for me in accepting a new manager, but they are the ones you have watched for the past few years."
One of the men linked with the Liverpool job should Hodgson depart is Jurgen Klopp, but the Borussia Dortmund coach has dismissed the speculation.
"There has been no approach and there's no point talking about it," he said at a training camp in Spain.
Dortmund chief executive Hans-Joachim Watzke also ruled out the possibility that Klopp would take charge at Liverpool.
Watzke said: "There's been no official approach because it would be a waste of time.
"Everybody knows there's no chance we'd let him go. We can but laugh [about this story].
"Jurgen is a friend of mine and he has a contract until 2014. He would never break it."

Scott Dann's 89th-minute strike earned Birmingham City a 2-1 Premier League win over Blackpool at Bloomfield Road on Tuesday night. Dann's last-gasp strike earned Blues their first away win of the season and moved them out of the relegation zone.
Alexander Hleb pounced on a mistake by Stephen Crainey to put Blues ahead in the first half before DJ Campbell's 68th-minute equaliser.
Alex McLeish's side then sealed victory thanks to Dann's close-range effort with a minute of normal time remaining.

It was a dramatic conclusion to a pulsating game which saw the woodwork rattled once by the hosts and twice by the visitors.
Blackpool, playing at home for the first time since November 20, were slow to get out of the blocks and fortunate not to be a goal down within the opening two minutes.
Having been fed by Hleb, Liam Ridgewell sent the ball into the six-yard box for Matt Derbyshire, but with the goal at his mercy, the striker could only prod his effort wide.
Three minutes later the ball fell to Derbyshire in the area again as Cameron Jerome lashed a shot across goal but there was too much pace on it and the former Blackburn man could not capitalise.
Birmingham wasted another decent opportunity within seconds, Jerome the culprit this time as he failed to wrap his foot around Derbyshire's cut-back.
The hosts attempted to get a grip on the game and Neal Eardley rifled their first shot at goal over the bar in the 10th minute.
Matt Phillips tried to drill one but could not get much power on it and went closer soon after, connecting with Charlie Adam's free-kick at the back post but seeing his shot blocked by Ben Foster.
It seemed Blackpool had settled, but then an error by Crainey led to the visitors taking the lead.
Under little apparent pressure, Crainey inadvertently laid the ball straight to Hleb on the edge of the box, and he gleefully took advantage by beating Richard Kingson.
The Seasiders almost hit back straight away, with Phillips getting on the end of Adam's free-kick but only able to provide a glancing contact that sent the ball wide.
Gary Taylor-Fletcher tried a chip which Foster saved before Craig Gardner sliced an effort off-target at the other end.


Jerome then cracked a shot at Kingson just before the break which the Ghanaian palmed away.
Blackpool emerged from the interval looking determined to find an equaliser and Luke Varney unleashed an effort that cleared the bar five minutes after the restart.
Adam's curling shot from distance then drew a diving save out of Foster with Varney lifting the follow-up over the bar, and Phillips had a low drive blocked.
McLeish brought on Sebastian Larsson for Keith Fahey before Blackpool broke away again, Adam squaring to Campbell, who was off-balance as he shot towards Foster.
The momentum was with the hosts, but Blues then nearly made it 2-0 as Jerome dinked the ball over Kingson only to be denied by the post.
Larsson also struck the upright with a free-kick soon after, but moments later, the Seasiders were level.
Taylor-Fletcher provided a knock-down from Eardley's cross and Campbell was there to volley past Foster for his fourth goal in four games.
Tangerines boss Ian Holloway withdrew Phillips and Taylor-Fletcher for Brett Ormerod and Jason Euell and the home supporters cried out for a penalty as Ridgewell challenged Varney in the box, but referee Jon Moss waved play on.
Blackpool's substitutes were swiftly in the thick of the action as Euell volleyed at Foster before Ormerod saw his effort saved by the England stopper.
Adam then got the ball beyond Foster with an angled shot, but it came back off the far post.
Birmingham appeared to have held on for a point, but right at the death, they snatched all three.
Roger Johnson rose in the box to head down substitute Jean Beausejour's delivery and Dann fired the ball in, with Kingson's appeals for offside proving futile.

Wakati huo alisema kuwa, mtoto wake atalelewa chini ya uangalizi usiokuwa wa kawaida na baadaye ilielezwa kuwa, amemnunua mtoto kwa kumtuliza mama yake kwa mkataba wa kutoa pauni milioni 10, ambazo kwa fedha za Tanzania, ni zaidi ya sh.bilioni 22.

Lakini, chanzo kimesema kuwa, mwanamke huyo hataki kumwacha mtoto huyo ambaye alipatikana baada ya kukutana na nyota huyo siku moja kwenye klabu ya usiku.

Mwanamke huyo amekuwa akimpigia simu Ronaldo akimweleza kuwa, amebadili mawazo na kwamba, anataka kurudisha fedha zake.

Mwanamke huyo amekuwa na msongo wa mawazo kufuatia uamuzi wake wa kukubali kulipwa fedha.

Moja ya kipengele katika mkataba huo ulioandaliwa na wanasheria wa Ronaldo, kinataka asijadili jambo hilo na mtu yeyote, ikiwemo familia na rafiki zake.


Inadaiwa kuwa, mwanamke huyo kwa sasa amekuwa na uchungu kwa kumkosa mtoto na haoni kama fedha alizopewa zimemletea furaha.

"Mara kwa mara amekuwa akimpigia simu usiku wa manane. Amekuwa akimlilia na kumwomba akubali kumwona mtoto," chanzo kilicho karibu na mwanamke huyo kililiambia gazeti la Sunday Mirror.

"Kulikuwa na makubaliano ya kutowasiliana naye, lakini hata hivyo imekuwa tofauti.

"Humpigia simu baada ya mechi kumpongeza kwa jinsi alivyocheza, akitumaini kuwa, kuna siku anaweza kuwa karibu naye.

"Anahisi kama ameuza nafsi yake. Amekuwa na maisha ya kimilionea, lakini hawezi kuwaambia rafiki zake na familia yake ukweli kuhusu ni kitu gani kilitokea na hilo linamfanya ajisikie mpweke."


Rafiki wa Ronaldo, ambaye alihamia Real Madrid kwa ada iliyovunja rekodi ya dunia ya pauni milioni 80 mwaka 2009, alisema: " Kwa jinsi ilivyokuwa, ni chaguo lake, maamuzi yake."

Ronaldo aliwahi kumwelezea mwanamke huyo aliyezaa naye kuwa, ni mwanamke aliyekaa naye siku moja wakiwa watupu hotelini na kufurahia penzi.

Baada ya kujua kuwa ni mjamzito, aliwasiliana naye kupitia wakala wake, Jorge Mendes.

Baada ya kuzaliwa na kupimwa vinasaba ili kujua kama ni mtoto wake wa damu kweli, wakati akiwa katika michuano ya Kombe la Dunia akiichezea Ureno nchini Afrika Kusini, ilitangazwa katika Facebook Julai 3, kuwa, amekuwa baba.

Mtoto huyo alionekana kwa mara ya kwanza hadharani katika mechi ya Real Madrid Desemba 8, akiwa na umri wa miezi sita.

Alikuwa amebebwa na mama yake Ronaldo Dolores mwenye miaka 55, ambaye amekuwa akimlea mtoto huyo pamoja na dada za Ronaldo, Elma na Liliana Catia.


Rafiki huyo aliongeza: "Kwa kiasi fulani mama wa mtoto ameweza kuwasiliana naye na kutaka kumwona mtoto.

"Atamwambia kuhusu maisha ya umilionea aliyonayo sasa, pamoja na safari nyingi za kwenda katika klabu za usiku London.

Rafiki zake wanachukulia kuwa, alishinda bahati nasibu, na mwenyewe amekuwa akijifanyisha hivyo.

Lakini, amekuja kugundua kuwa, hana nafasi ya kumwona mtoto wake ambaye anakua. Kama wataendelea kuzungumza kama hivi, anaweza kujikuta akizidi kuumia zaidi na zaidi.'

Ronaldo akiwa na Manchester United, alitwaa nayo ubingwa wa Ligi Kuu, Kombe la FA na Ligi ya Mabingwa Ulaya na alipigia kura kuwa Mchezaji Bora wa Mwaka wa FIFA 2008.

Ronaldo akiwa katika msimu wake wa pili Real, sasa amekuwa juu kwenye orodha ya ufungaji mabao katika Ligi Kuu Hispania maarufu kama La Liga, akichuana na Lionel Messi.

Manchester United pulled three points clear at the top of the Premier League but were forced to work hard for a 2-1 win over Stoke on Tuesday.
United's unbeaten fight for the title reached 20 matches at Old Trafford as Javier Hernandez and Nani scored the goals that sank Tony Pulis' Potters.
Dean Whitehead had headed home a shock leveller for the visitors at the start of the second half but Sir Alex Ferguson's men just about deserved their latest triumph.

It took United's tally to 19 points out of the last 21 and opened up a lead of three points over Manchester City and five on Arsenal ahead of their meeting at the Emirates Stadium on Wednesday.
Yet rarely can such impressive and imposing statistics be greeted with such an underwhelming response, which is possibly the strangest aspect of a very strange season, which Hernandez at least has plenty of reason to enjoy.
When Hernandez was considering the delights that awaited in his first season at United, it is fair to assume Stoke would not have been top of his list. But long after he has returned to Mexico, he will remember his meetings with the men from the Potteries.
In October it was that jaw-dropping back header, which even a renowned exponent such as Andy Gray admitted he would have struggled to emulate in his heyday.
Tuesday night's effort was no less audacious. Nipping in front of former United defender Ryan Shawcross at the near post, Hernandez reacted quickly as Nani drilled over a low cross.
Letting the ball run behind him, he quickly flicked back his right leg and turned it at right angles, into a goal that Asmir Begovic thought he had covered.
It was Hernandez's ninth goal of the season and his second in four days.
Little wonder Ferguson had enough faith in the striker not to worry too much about the absence of Wayne Rooney, who watched on from an executive suite in the company of Stereophonics frontman Kelly Jones.
Rio Ferdinand was missing too, rested ahead of Sunday's FA Cup tie with Liverpool, which allowed Chris Smalling to make his first league start.
Not that the England Under-21 defender had that much to do as United dominated proceedings without carving out too many clear-cut opportunities.
Dimitar Berbatov had one after Ryan Giggs' shot deflected into his path off Shawcross.


But, although the Bulgarian controlled brilliantly, under pressure from Marc Wilson, he prodded wide rather than into the same corner Hernandez found shortly afterwards.
The overwhelming feeling at half-time was of the hosts once again scraping by without really exuding any of the class expected.
And five minutes after the restart they were pegged back as Whitehead nipped between Nemanja Vidic and Patrice Evra to nod home Tuncay's cross unchallenged.
It was the centre-piece of a period of genuine Stoke pressure and brought the Potteries outfit their first Old Trafford goal since 1980.
And for while a nervousness and anxiety betrayed United's play.
Berbatov ranted at Nani for not passing to him quickly enough as another home attack broke down in its infancy.
Yet if their actual play leaves many doubters unconvinced about their actual merits in comparison to Ferguson teams of old, the Red Devils' durability cannot be questioned.
And when Danny Collins failed to get tight to Nani as he collected Hernandez's pass on the edge of the area, the Portugal winger turned swiftly before finding the bottom corner with a precise curling left-footed shot.
Although there has been the odd outstanding performance, such as the one that brought seven goals against Blackburn, it is upon such magical moments that United's season has been built thus far.
The late introduction of Michael Owen for his first appearance of the winter, and his run to reach a Nani cross that did not bounce kindly for him in stoppage time, suggests Ferguson does have options that Arsenal and Chelsea in particular cannot match.
It was the presence of another former Liverpool man, Jermaine Pennant, that the crowd chose to highlight as attention switched to Sunday's FA Cup tie with the ailing Merseysiders, which will presumably not peter out as this did.
