Arsenal defender Thomas Vermaelen has returned to action from a long-term Achilles injury with the reserves, but will not be rushed back for the clash with the Premier League leaders.
The Belgian centre-half has not featured since the end of August, but played the whole of Thursday night's goalless second XI game against United at Old Trafford.
Midfielder Abou Diaby (calf) misses out again, but Czech winger Tomas Rosicky could be available after illness.
Dimitar Berbatov returns to the Manchester United squad. Berbatov has missed three games with a minor groin strain but is expected to be handed a starting spot as United look to end Arsenal's lingering title challenge.
Paul Scholes serves the final game of a three-match ban, whilst Darren Fletcher (virus) is expected to be available for Wednesday's Champions League semi-final decider with Schalke.

The American midfielder hooked a half-cleared corner into the net after 15 minutes and tapped in Eidur Gudjohnsen's flick-on three minutes into the second half to take his tally since joining Fulham in 2007 to 33 goals.
Dempsey surpasses fellow American Brian McBride and French midfielder Steed Malbranque, who both scored 32 league goals before leaving Fulham.
Dempsey's double took him to 12 league goals this season alone. Fellow Texan Brede Hangeland, the defender who plays his international football for Norway, completed Fulham's victory with a 65th minute-header.
Fulham soared into the top half of the Premier League standings to ninth, a place and four points behind Bolton with four matches remaining.
The victory extended Fulham's unbeaten run at Craven Cottage to seven matches, during which they have picked up 19 points out of a possible 21 to ensure the London club's Premier League survival.

Blackburn claimed their first win since January to move a step closer to Premier League survival with a 1-0 victory over Bolton at Ewood Park.

Martin Olsson's low first-half strike, just reward for a display in which he had David Wheater all at sea, sealed a win which could and should have been more comfortable.
Bolton might have gone in front earlier with Rodrigo Moreno's snap-shot coming back off a post, but they were always second best.
The Bolton fans taunted the hosts with chants of 'You should've kept big Sam' in reference to Steve Kean's predecessor Sam Allardyce, but this was perhaps the Blackburn boss' most important win since taking charge. And, after two straight defeats without scoring, his side were well worth it.
Bolton boss Owen Coyle made four changes to his side following the 3-0 defeat at Fulham in midweek, most notably Hungarian Adam Bogdan coming in for Jussi Jaaskelainen in goal, the veteran Finn dropping to the bench.
But the new faces failed to breathe new life into the visitors, who looked every inch a side with little left to play for this season.
Rovers came into the game just a point above the bottom three, but they started brightly.
Olsson sent in a deep cross from the left which was headed back inside by Brett Emerton and Benjani stabbed the ball wide under pressure from Zat Knight.
Olsson was looking dangerous down the left and he got to the byline, putting in another cross which Brett Emerton, under pressure, hit low straight at Bogdan.

Blackburn almost went in front in the 15th minute when Olsson beat Wheater on his outside in the area to give himself a shooting chance, but his effort was blocked on the line by Paul Robinson before a free-kick allowed Wanderers to clear their lines.
The woodwork came to Blackburn's rescue moments later, though, when Michel Salgado's misdirected header fell to the feet of Moreno, whose snap-shot came back off the near post.
But fittingly it was Olsson who scored the first goal in the 22nd minute to put the hosts ahead. He picked the ball up 25 yards out and, with Wheater backing off, cut inside before toe-poking the ball into the near bottom corner from just outside the area.
Olsson appeared on a one-man mission to save Blackburn from the drop and, after having an effort blocked, saw his follow-up shot turned round the post by Bogdan.
Rovers were dominant now and only a fine sliding tackle from Knight prevented Emerton from breaking into the area.
There was a scare for the hosts when Olsson had to go off after taking a blow to his ankle, but after treatment he was fit to continue.
Emerton had Bogdan worried soon after the restart when, instead of crossing, he went for the near top corner with a free-kick way out on the left, but it dropped just over the bar.
Benjani should have doubled Rovers' lead after the ball fell to him in the six-yard box, but he could not bring it under control and Bogdan smothered.
Salgado was then forced off after hurting himself in a challenge with Gardner and Mame Diouf came on.
Steven Nzonzi almost added to Blackburn's lead when he got to Paul Robinson's long free-kick ahead of Bogdan but his looping header dropped wide.
Mame Diouf, on for Benjani, was guilty of a glaring miss when the ball fell to him 10 yards out and with time to measure his shot, but he miscued it horribly high and wide.
Rovers were opening their opponents up almost at will, though, and the impressive Jermaine Jones sent a cross-shot just wide after a swift break.
Nzonzi then inexplicably headed over when unmarked after Olsson had again skipped past Wheater and crossed as Rovers finished with a flourish.

Blackpool remain firmly in the Premier League relegation scrap after being held to a 0-0 draw by Stoke at Bloomfield Road on Saturday.

The Seasiders were looking to give their survival bid a major boost but could not make a breakthrough against the Potters, for whom Kenwyne Jones missed the best chance of the game when he rounded goalkeeper Matt Gilks but shot wide in first-half stoppage time.
Glenn Whelan also went close for the visitors, while Asmir Begovic did well to deny Matt Phillips from close range.
Blackpool had scored and conceded in all their previous top flight home matches this season - but this blank means they remain 17th in the table.
Home boss Ian Holloway named an unchanged team, while Potters boss Tony Pulis made one enforced adjustment from the 3-0 victory over Wolves on Tuesday, replacing hamstring injury victim Matthew Etherington with Dean Whitehead.
Blackpool carved out the first goalscoring opportunity after six minutes, Stephen Crainey whipping in a cross and DJ Campbell heading over the bar.
Two minutes later Phillips collected a loose ball and tried his luck from outside the area, but skewed his shot wide.
Soon after Charlie Adam attempted to burst through and collided with Whelan and Robert Huth, with the latter's foot appearing to make contact with the Blackpool captain's head. Adam looked to be in some pain, but was able to continue.
Having soaked up some pressure, Stoke got their first strike in on goal as Huth saw a shot blocked by Crainey, but the Potters defence was then almost caught napping when a long ball sailed over their heads, Marc Wilson just on hand to make sure Phillips could not take advantage.
Stoke broke forward again with Rory Delap delivering a cross into the danger zone, but Alex Baptiste did enough to avert the danger.
Neal Eardley sliced well off-target having been teed up in the box before his defensive colleague Ian Evatt made a great tackle at the other end to stop Jones advancing.
Blackpool then won a free-kick in a useful area following Whelan's foul on David Vaughan, but Adam could only find the Stoke wall with the effort.

Gary Taylor-Fletcher got on the end of a cross from Evatt four minutes before the interval but was unable to get much power behind his header, which Begovic gathered comfortably.
The hosts then survived a real scare in first half stoppage-time when they lost possession and the ball came to Jones, who took it around Gilks as Evatt slipped over.
It seemed like a simple finish for the former Sunderland striker, but he somehow contrived to blaze wide and the score remained 0-0.
Phillips went close at the start of the second half but his flick towards goal from Adam's corner was saved by Begovic.
Keith Southern then fired an effort in which took a deflection off his team-mate Campbell and went narrowly wide.
Stoke responded with a swerving shot from Whelan which Gilks dived to palm away and a downward header from Jones that was scrambled clear, while Pulis threw on Ryan Shotton for Andy Wilkinson.
Blackpool fans appealed for a penalty when Campbell got in a tangle with Whelan in the box, but referee Mark Clattenburg waved play on, and Vaughan tried a drive from distance which flew over.
Holloway refreshed his attack with just under 20 minutes to go, bringing on Luke Varney and Sergei Kornilenko for Phillips and Taylor-Fletcher.
Pulis made another substitution of his own, introducing John Carew for Delap, before Whelan sent a fierce shot wide.
Kornilenko got a header in towards the end that did little to trouble Begovic as Stoke held on to frustrate their opponents.

Fulham secured only their second away win in the Premier League since August 2009 after an emphatic 3-0 triumph against injury-hit Sunderland.

On-loan Chelsea forward Gael Kakuta poked home his first goal in English football in the 33rd minute to give the visitors the lead before a Simon Davies double in the second half settled matters at the Stadium of Light.
Sunderland enjoyed much the better of the first half but failed to convert a number of decent opportunities and were left to contemplate an eighth defeat from 10 matches.
The hosts' ongoing injury crisis robbed them of any fit strikers, with Danny Welbeck and Asamoah Gyan both expected to miss the rest of the season after damaging hamstrings in last weekend's 4-2 win over Wigan.
That result allayed the Black Cats' relegation fears but had either Welbeck or Gyan been fit they surely would have converted at least one of the host of chances the home side created in the first half.
Sunderland dominated possession from the off and full-back Ahmed Elmohamady had the first decent chance in the 14th minute with a header glanced just wide from Phil Bardsley's cross.
The Fulham team featured three changes from Wednesday's 3-0 win over Bolton, the most notable of which was a debut for Philippe Senderos 11 months after he joined the club from Arsenal following his recovery from an Achilles injury.

Kakuta and Bobby Zamora also came into the side, with Brede Hangeland and Clint Dempsey left out altogether while Moussa Dembele dropped to the bench.
Eidur Gudjohnsen shot over in a rare chance for the visitors before Sunderland's wastefulness continued as Steed Malbranque charged down an attempted Senderos clearance only to clip a shot well side.
And the hosts were made to pay in the 33rd minute when Kakuta took advantage of some poor defending. The 19-year-old was picked out by Zamora all alone in the middle of the area and he poked the ball through the legs of Simon Mignolet.
Sunderland should have responded immediately but Lee Cattermole's finish from 10 yards out was weak and easily saved by Schwarzer after a superb ball from makeshift frontman Stephane Sessegnon, while Sulley Muntari saw an effort deflected just over the bar.
Sessegnon had a chance to run at the Fulham defence five minutes into the second half and he engineered a shooting chance but his effort lacked power and Schwarzer safely held on.
Fulham were inches away from grabbing a second moments later as a sliding Zamora just failed to turn Gudjohnsen's cross-shot into an empty net.
The Cottagers did double their advantage in the 61st minute with a goal from Davies that was as simple as it was clinical. Steve Sidwell chased a long ball to the byline and cut it back for Davies to guide his shot into the far corner.
Both managers turned to their substitutes, with Jonathan Greening replacing Kakuta while Steve Bruce took off Muntari and sent on centre-back Anton Ferdinand, with Nedum Onuoha moving up front to offer some much-needed height and power.
It was game over in the 73rd minute as Davies grabbed his second of the afternoon. Mignolet and Ferdinand got in each other's way as they attempted to clear Zamora's cross and Davies turned the loose ball home despite the best efforts of Elmohamady.
That was the cue for large sections of the Sunderland fans to head for the exits and there was no doubt which team was in the ascendancy now.
Gudjohnsen tried his luck from 25 yards with a volley that landed just wide of the post while Sunderland continued to huff and puff without ever threatening to breach Schwarzer's goal.

Timu 24 zathibitisha kushiriki Taifa Cup Send to a friend Saturday, 30 April 2011 10:15

Sweetbert Lukonge

Youssouf Mulumbu sealed 10-man West Brom's first win over Aston Villa for 26 years as they came from behind to triumph 2-1 at The Hawthorns.
An own goal from Abdoulaye Meite gave Villa an early lead before Peter Odemwingie levelled for the Baggies with his 14th goal of the campaign.
Albion midfielder Paul Scharner was sent off after 62 minutes for two bookable offences, but Mulumbu netted the winner with six minutes remaining.
West Brom have now taken 16 points from nine matches under head coach Roy Hodgson.
Hodgson was forced to make three changes with skipper Chris Brunt and winger Jerome Thomas (both hamstring) and defender Steven Reid (calf) all ruled out.
Villa caretaker boss Gary McAllister recalled Gabriel Agbonlahor in place of Emile Heskey, who had a slight knee problem.

Albion fell behind via the first meaningful attack of the game after four minutes.
Agbonlahor held the ball up inside the Baggies box before picking out Stewart Downing.
Meite was unable to deal with his low cross and deflected the ball past Scott Carson into the corner of the net.
Carson was then unable to cling onto a deflected shot from Villa skipper Stiliyan Petrov, but he was able to recover in time and grab the rebound before Darren Bent could take advantage.
Scharner became the first player to be booked for a challenge on Nigel Reo-Coker.
The home side threatened for the first time when Brad Friedel turned aside a curling 25-yard drive from Mulumbu at the expense of a corner.
Ashley Young seized onto a lack of control by Gonzalo Jara and cut inside, but he curled his shot past the far post.
Carlos Vela then missed a great chance to bring Albion level, the on-loan Arsenal striker latching onto Simon Cox's defence-splitting pass but failing to keep his shot down as he tried to chip Friedel.
Downing created space for himself after cutting inside but dragged his left-footed shot past the post.
The England winger then teed up the overlapping Kyle Walker, whose menacing cross was tipped over the bar by Carson.
More good play by Downing created an opening for Agbonlahor whose shot was deflected wide.
Both sides were forced into a defensive switch after 50 minutes with Jara and Dunne hobbling out of the action to be replaced by Gabriel Tamas and Ciaran Clark respectively.
Albion fans appealed optimistically for a penalty but Luke Young clearly got a touch on the ball to deflect it away from Vela and back to Friedel.
But after an hour Odemwingie brought West Brom level.
Morrison's deep free-kick was headed back across goal by Jonas Olsson and Cox and Scharner miskicked before Odemwingie lashed the ball into the roof of the net.
Two minutes later Albion were reduced to 10 men when Scharner hauled down Petrov and was sent off.
Carson parried away a curling attempt from Ashley Young as Villa looked to make the most of their numerical advantage.
Morrison blocked a fierce attempt from Agbonlahor, who was then booked after fouling Mulumbu.
Collins deflected a fiercely struck cross from Walker wide and saved a low drive from the impressive Downing.
Mulumbu was booked for bringing down Bent but then put his side in front after 84 minutes, his sixth goal of the season.
He ran onto Cox's pass and evaded Luke Young before nicking the ball past Friedel under pressure from Clark.
