Arjen Robben scored twice to help Bayern Munich beat Hoffenheim 4-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday in his and Franck Ribery's first start together this season.
Mario Gomez, the top scorer in the German first division, made it 17 goals in 20 games in the second minute, Thomas Mueller doubled the lead, and Robben scored two fine individual efforts against the visitors.
"We wanted to show that we are a super team," said Robben. "Last week in Cologne (a 3-2 loss) was not so good. We wanted to put that right."

Bayern moved up to third, 13 points behind leader Borussia Dortmund, which was held 1-1 at Kaiserslautern in the late game, and three behind Bayer Leverkusen, which won 3-0 at Eintracht Frankfurt.
Jan Moravek scored a last-minute equalizer for Kaiserslautern to cut Dortmund's lead at the top of table to 10 points.
His perfect volley from 16 meters (yards) into the top left corner canceled out Sven Bender's 81st minute strike for Dortmund. The midfielder neatly changed direction by stepping over the ball, before unleashing a curling effort past Tobias Sippel for his first goal of the season.
Defender Neven Subotic was sent off for a second yellow card in the 85th, for bringing down Srdjan Lakic.
"Crazy," said Dortmund coach Juergen Klopp of the decision. "We were the better team. We just didn't take our chances."
Also on Saturday, Schalke won 1-0 at home to Freiburg; Stuttgart lost 4-1 at home to Nuremberg; and Pierre Littbarski's first game in charge of Wolfsburg ended in a 1-0 home defeat to Hamburger SV.
St. Pauli beat bottom side Borussia Moenchengladbach 3-1 at home to help it climb out of relegation trouble into 12th.
Robben and Ribery had an immediate impact when they combined with Mueller to help Gomez open the scoring from close range in the second minute.
Mueller scored in the 15th, when he powered the ball into the bottom right corner, after some good work from Ribery.
Josep Siminic was lucky to stay on the field when he caught Robben in the face with his elbow in the 55th, but it seemed only to inspire the winger.
After receiving attention, the Dutchman beat five defenders to score Bayern's third in the 63rd.
He scored an even better goal in the 80th when he received the ball from Ribery on the edge of the area and curled a wonderful shot with his left past Haas into the top right corner.
"We played very well in this game for 90 minutes," Bayern coach Louis van Gaal said. "There you can see how we can play."
Michael Ballack stayed on the bench for Bayer Leverkusen's 3-0 win at Eintracht Frankfurt, where the goals came from Simon Rolfes, Renato Augusto and Hanno Balitsch.
There were chants of "Hoeness out!" at Wolfsburg as fans expressed dissatisfaction with general manager Dieter Hoeness following Hamburg's win from a Mladen Petric penalty.
South Korean Ja-Cheol Koo made his Wolfsburg debut when he came on as a substitute in the 64th, and almost marked it with a goal when his shot from 18 meters (yards) was narrowly wide.
Wolfsburg, which fired coach Steve McClaren on Monday, was 13th, and could end the weekend in the relegation zone pending results for Werder Bremen and Cologne.
Elsewhere, a wayward back pass from St. Pauli's Moritz Volz gifted Borussia Moenchengladbach an early goal through Igor de Camargo.
The Belgian striker was sent off shortly afterward. He was fouled by Matthias Lehmann in the 21st, and reacted by springing up and putting his head to the St. Pauli midfielder's head.
Lehmann said: "I accept such a gift with thanks. I'd be stupid if I didn't. He clearly contacted me. I don't stay up if we're losing 1-0."
Lehmann went down and De Camargo was shown a straight red - Borussia's seventh sending off of the season.
St. Pauli rallied with goals from Max Kruse, Gerald Asamoah and Lehmann, who unleashed a first-time volley across goal past Heimeroth to send the home fans wild in the 58th.
"We keep shooting ourselves in the knee, It can't go on," Moenchengladbach coach Michael Frontzeck said. "The situation is more than critical for us."
Stuttgart, the 2007 champion, remained second from bottom after Nuremberg striker Julian Schieber - on loan from Stuttgart - inspired his side to a 4-1 win by scoring the second and creating the third.
Jefferson Farfan scored the winner for Schalke at home to Freiburg in the 49th, after he was played into space by Raul Gonzalez, to ease the pressure on coach Felix Magath.
