Liverpool winger Mohamed Salah has committed his long-term future to the club by signing a new five-year contract.
The Egypt international has been rewarded for his outstanding debut season for the Reds which saw him plunder 44 goals in 52 matches.
The ECHO understands there is no release clause in a contract which will keep him at Anfield until 2023. It puts him alongside Roberto Firmino and Virgil van Dijk as the club's highest wage earners.
The news is a massive boost for Liverpool as Jurgen Klopp's squad reconvene at Melwood for the start of pre-season training today.
Salah lit up Anfield following his £36.9million move from Roma last year. He played a starring role in Liverpool's run to the Champions League final and was crowned both PFA Player of the Year and FWA Footballer of the Year.

The 26-year-old had been linked with a move to Spain but he made it clear that he was happy and settled at Liverpool. Negotiations were swiftly concluded between Liverpool sporting director Michael Edwards and Salah's agent Ramy Abbas.
With Firmino having also recently signed a new contract, the priority now will be to get Sadio Mane to pen an extension.
