Tanzania and Morocco have signed more than 20 agreements in sectors ranging from economy to science and technology aimed at fostering bilateral relationship and investment development between the two countries.

The agreements, signed on Monday, focus on tourism, agriculture, gas, minerals, insurance, trade and business, banking and loans, health, railway and manufacturing, and marine fishery.

The signing of the agreements by respective ministers were witnessed by the visiting King Mohammed VI of Morocco and Tanzanian President John Magufuli at the east African nation's State House in the commercial capital Dar es Salaam.

President Magufuli said the agreements laid the foundations for a new continental cooperation.

"The royal tour marks the beginning of a new era in relations between Morocco and Tanzania highlighting shared commitment to contribute to the emergence of a new united and strong Africa," said Magufuli.

President Magufuli said Tanzania and Morocco are eager to bolster their cooperation and partnership for the benefit of their people.

He underlined the importance of working together as one, exchanging expertise and experiences towards further development and progress.

Magufuli said King Mohammed VI has agreed to build a large mosque in Dar es Salaam and a large football ground in the political capital Dodoma that will cost between 80 million US dollars and 100 million US dollars.

Magufuli assured Moroccan business community that Tanzania is safe and the doors of investment are wide open.

Moroccan Minister for Foreign Affairs and Cooperation, Salahddine Mezouar, said his country adopts a win-win approach underpinned by solidarity in its relations with Tanzania and other countries.

He said the King's current tour of the continent came as another opportunity to foster development and establish win-win partnerships.

Bagamoyo port kuwa on the drawing board ni jipya tena? Hilo si limekuwa hivyo tangu mwaka wa 2009?
Bagamoyo port was first talked about in 2013 and MOU signed when Xi Jinping visited Tanzania! Stop distortion Bagamoyo port is nowhere to be compared to LAPSSET...

You are right about one thing, you cannot compare LAPSSET to bagamoyo. LAPSSET is not a discussion but rather a reality. Bagamoyo is still a fantasy story written on a paper collecting dust somewhere in daresalaam proudly showing the incompetency of the Tanzania govt...just like the so called Tanzania central line SGR.

Tanzanians are useless too many words but too little action.

nomasana, so since we don't post fotos of EPZ zones n infrastructure dvt around the port doesn't mean nothing is happening! Typical of Kenyan foolishness!
