There are all kinds. Rich just means you found a way to put money into your pocks. Jeff Bezos was a great student, never hiring A- folks. But rich is not reserved for people with good grades.
Many rich people fail badly at school. They are B students, C students, D students, and F students. They got into construction, real estate, buy and run stores, buy and run shopping malls, run restaurants. They are rich, some very happy, some somewhat happy.
Eventually everyone who failed school will catch up. School is just for early bloomers.
Getting rich involves enduring humility. Eventually everyone needs to take a turn.
There are rare rich guys with Ph.D. degrees. A richest guy I ever met, Stan Petersen, lives in an area in San Francisco bay area that Google Map block off so no one knows they live there. He has a Ph.D. degree in EE from Berkeley, quit his super prestigious job at IBM, started sixes companies, everyone an icon of SV. The other day we met, he finally told me how painful it was for him, after he quit his job with new born at home and how his first company failed (but no one knew). He never complained, because he expected that giant sacrifice to end in failure. He is in Northern Cal, and this is the path of rite for anyone. You quit your job, get humiliated, and earn a scar. Then you join the club.
