Gavana, The Baal Cults.
In order to understand the nature and character of Islam, one must look at Islam from a biblical point of view. Otherwise Islam remains an enigma, an unsolved puzzle.
We need to explore the similarities between the Baal cults of the Old Testament and modern Islam.
In the Old Testament, the followers of Baal were major opposers and challengers of Jehovah God and His people. Baal, meaning "master," "possessor" or "husband," was worshiped as a male god of the Phoenicians and Canaanites.
The worship of Baal was often connected with the goddess Ashtoreth (Judg. 2:13), the female counterpart. Baal was considered the sun god.
Characteristics of Baal worship can be seen in many of today's cults and false religions. Baal worship produces a spirit of hatred towards God's elect, a spirit of immorality, fear, bloodshed, division and war.
Throughout history Islam has proved to have a similar nature and character. Many rituals practiced within Islam are similar to those of Baal worship. In my opinion, the spirit that raised Baal worship in Phoenicia and Canaan, and later in Babylon, is the same spirit that raised Islam in Arabia.
According to the Encyclopedia of Religion, Allah is a preIslamic name corresponding to the Babylonian Bel (Baal). According to Middle East scholar E. M. Wherry, in preIslamic times both Allah-worship and Baal-worship of Baal involved the worship of the sun, the moon and the stars, which defines them as astral religions.
The crescent moon, which was the symbol of moon worship, is also the symbol of Islam.
It is printed on the flags of many Islamic countries and placed on top of minarets and mosques.
Many Muslims will argue that Allah is the same God that Christians and Jews worship. But by studying the Koran one will see the vast gap of character, nature and personality that exists between the God of the Bible and the Allah of the Koran.
It is not even necessary to be a Christian to see the immense differences Muslims will see the difference if they study both the Koran and the Bible. Pointing out the differences would be a waste of time and energy. I will not commit the treason of comparing Jesus with any other man or comparing Christianity with any other philosophy that has ever existed upon the face of this earth. Jesus is far above every name that is ever mentioned or will ever be named.
All I need to do is to show honestly what Islam teaches and practices. Then you will know what Islam is. Jesus said, "A tree is known by its fruit" (Matt. 12:33). A banana tree produces bananas, and a thorn bush produces thorns.
The fruit that Islam has produced throughout history will show its nature.
As we will see, the fruits of fear, terror and bloodshed have always characterized this religion.
