My view on Kenya elevated express toll roads

Do you want to learn or throw around childish insults?
to learn from a bogus project that wastes a corridor of +27 km on just a toll highway to nowhere! Idiot, i don't wanna learn utopolo! Those poles could be put in a manner a corridor of at least 2 lanes for BRT buses! Ila mamburura hamjafikiria hilo!

Like I explained from that thread, this is a bogus blog and nothing like that exists in Nairobi. Currently, there are two lines of BRT infrastructure under construction in Nairobi. One is along the Expressway and the other is along Thika road. You can decide to take that information or continue gulping what pleases your gut as long as it makes you feel good about yourself.

Idea ya kupunguza foleni barabarani ni pamoja kupunguza idadi ya Magari barabarani (yakiwemo yale binafsi)
Kama kukiwa na usafiri mzuri wa umma, watu wengi wataacha magari yao majumbani na kutumia magari ya uma, (decent commuter trains + brt)
Mimi nakaa Kimara na nimeona wengi wakipaki magari yao Kimara mwisho na kudandia mwendokasi hadi posta, wakirudi wanachukua magari yao, tayari hapa Kimara kuna parkings ambazo ukiacha chombo yako hapo ni buku tu kwa siku nzima na ulinzi upo,
Mimi pia nikiwa na mishe posta weekend huwa naacha chombo hapo nadandia mwendokasi fasta. Japo katikati ya wiki bado sishawishiki kutumia public transport.
Honestly, decent trains and Brt was better idea than the stupid overpriced chinese owned expressway. Upuuzi wa Kenya hakuna Africa nzima, kukosa maono kwa viongozi wa Kenya ndio kunafanya overpriced projects za mikopo ya wachina kama SGR na Lamu port kuwa white elephants.

Wataongea nini sasa wakati hawachangii hata 100 kwenye Mradi. Mwenye hela yake anaamua ajengaje kwa manufaa yake. Kimsingi mchina atataka kuona foleni inaongezeka Nairobi na hakuna any project ili wajazane kwenye expressway apige pesa nyingi for the next 30yrs. Hawezi acha nafasi ya Brt au LRT ambazo zikijengwa zitapunguza Mapato kwenye mradi wake wa expressway

We are not saying everyone apande metro au BRT. What we are suggesting is that wouldn't be better to use the opportunity and resources that is now building Express toll roads to build SGR?

That would reduce congestion, it would help more people, and those who will be using their cars, won't have to pay extra to do so in tolls.

Looks like win win to me.

Okay, Labda huelewi tu, kwa nchi zilizoendelea za Ulaya na Marekani Karibu kila kaya ina gari moja au zaidi, walio wengi bado huacha magari yao na kutumia public transport kuepuka gharama nyingi zikiwemo parking mijini etc..zile foleni unaona kwenye baadhi ya miji kama Loss Angels ni sehemu ndogo sana ya magari yaliyopo Califonia. Ndio maana zimewekeza saana kwenye public transport maana mifumo ya usafiri wa umma ikiwa hovyo watu wakatoka na magari yao itakuwa ni disaster mzee..
though naelewa concern yako hasa kwetu sisi watu wa Ulimwengu wa tatu ambapo kumiliki gari ni mafanikio makubwa tunaona kama ni fahari kuvimba na vitoyota vyetu 2nd hand barabarani,
But mind you, nilikaa Berlin wiki Mbili nikaona watu wanakuwa encouraged kuacha magari yao na kutumia baiskeli instead.
