hii deal mimi kama mkenya siikubali. I do not see the need for a new road from mba to nbi yet we already have a functional SGR. furthermore Betchtel wenye huu mradi want to force the government to take up a loan to finance the construction. This is a new express way from Mombasa to Nairobi... will be an alternative to the current highway.
They will build and charge a toll fee for using the road to pay themselves back. There are no loans being taken by the govtSzwdsf

easier said than done, when that toll road is done. then you can kiss the sgr and the current mombasa road good bye. From sabotage to outright threats from America so that Bechtel can recoup its investment. They will build and charge a toll fee for using the road to pay themselves back. This is utter rubbish. Another attempt for Jubilee to steal money. We already have a road and a railway so this is just bullshit. It will have minimal economic benefits to the Kenyan economy. This is a new express way from Mombasa to Nairobi... will be an alternative to the current highway.
Jubilee wamenichosha. They can't stop making stupid economic decisions. So why do we need this stupid road when we have one already? Plus we have a railway that is running below capacity. Yaani akina Rotich, Macharia na Uhuru wanabehave like people who cannot think at all. Halafu hio deni nani atalipa incase pesa ya tolling ikose kutosha. Infact Kenyans don't like paying tolling fees that is why Thika road is free even though it was supposed to be a tolling road. Hii gava imeshindwa na kazi.easier said than done, when that toll road is done. then you can kiss the sgr and the current mombasa road good bye. Macharia is the most useless CS Kenya has ever had. this new road in my opinion should be from Lamu port to maybe Isiolo. That would have made a lot of sense because of the new port.Jubilee wamenichosha. They can't stop making stupid economic decisions. So why do we need this stupid road when we have one already? SGR was primarily built for cargo....You can never compare the revenues SGR accrues from passengers and cargo...passenger is way too insignificant....Secondly, Let me educate you, this is not built on a loan. It is using the PPP (Public Private Partnership) model where the contractor finances the entire construction using their own money, operates the highway by charging some toll fee to recoup their money, after lets say a period of 25-30 years and also maintains the road at their own cost....What are the benefits of this? The government is not overburdened on repaying any loan as the contactor gets their money back from toll fees, 3 special economic zones built along the expressway, 5000 jobs created, journey to the coastal city reduced to just 4 hours (imagine the road trip and scenic view from Nbi to Msa in just 4 hours...Amazing.....And finally, local tourism will be boosted......easier said than done, when that toll road is done. then you can kiss the sgr and the current mombasa road good bye. From sabotage to outright threats from America so that Bechtel can recoup its investment.
Boss, imagine having breakfast in Nairobi, lunch at the beach, and dinner in Nairobi....You see you will never lack naysayers....Their minds have been hardwired to oppose everything...Nothing in their lives make sense....This road should have been built eons ago contrary to some uninformed comments by some of my learned Country men.
Let the SGR handle cargo and othe bulk goods while I enjoy a smooth drive to pwani cruising at speeds rivalring that of a bullet train and again a bragging right to our jealous neighbors competing with their 19km kibaka road.
We already have the Nairobi-Nakuru-Mau Summit Expressway scheduled to start in the course of the year...Another 180km of expressway...Then next year we start another one to Malaba….The two biggest cities in a country joined by one rusty, dusty narrow highway. That can only happen in Africa.
If they can stick to that $3 billion budget, then this is a great deal. If we had this road 10 years ago, we would be talking of $150 billion GDP right now.
The dual carriage also must not stop in Nairobi. It should reach Nakuru and beyond. Hopefully Kisumu.
When this materializes, those 3 Ugandan businessmen using Dar port will come running back. 😂😂
What ''economists'' don't tell you is that during the Great Depression, US government went on a public works overdrive to stabilize the economy. Including construction of Hoover dam.
A huge part of the GDP is government spending, and it also stimulates other sectors of the economy.

Hehe mijubilee bana, full kuchanganyikiwa..mara BRT ya kuchorwa, mara Expressway ya kukopa, mara light rail ya magari moshi chakavu ya mtumba.
