Tour operators and travel agents are reporting a trend indicating that people are booking higher value trips for longer periods of time. The new SkySafari East Africa itinerary offers the perfect solution for a longer exceptional holiday that can be enjoyed as a couple or as a take-over for a multi-generational family looking to make up for lost time together.

SkySafari is a meticulously curated luxury safari that combines all the comforts of an intimate East African wildlife experience with an executive Cessna Caravan plane, direct flights with comfortable arm-chair travel, top-class guides and luxurious camps and lodges in the most magnificent of locations across East Africa.

SkySafari is re-launching in May 2021, after having postponed operations in 2020, with a brand-new itinerary that encompasses the highlights of East Africa and extended schedules for Kenya and Tanzania, all by private plane.
In a time where travel agents and operators crave certainty, SkySafari offers regular departures that are guaranteed with just two passengers. New collateral provides a fully comprehensive breakdown on what passengers can expect with beautifully illustrated descriptions on the areas that guests will visit making this a simple to sell product.

Booking is incredibly straightforward and commission structures are extremely competitive.

As people plan their travel for the future it is predicted that they will be looking for more exclusivity coupled with benefits for conservation and community.

SkySafari meets these criteria through their work with the Land&Life foundation and the business operates on a carbon negative basis.

Other advantages to SkySafari include a dedicated private Cessna Caravan aircraft with an allocated pilot and direct flights from camp to camp, resulting in more time on the ground enjoying the wonders of the bush and less time travelling. There is a greater luggage allowance of 22kg compared to the standard 15kg on scheduled flights and a single check-in and check-out for the entire journey. Visitors can expect a consistent high-end luxury level of service and accommodation throughout as SkySafari partners with the luxury safari operator Elewana Collection. This ensures that communication channels remain open throughout the guest’s journey and messages can be easily relayed regarding preferences and needs.

Mia Lawson, General Manager for SkySafari remarks “We have taken a great deal of time to assess the SkySafari product and evaluate feedback from the travel trade and their clients. Our research has shown that there is strong demand for a bucket list journey encompassing both Kenya and Tanzania as well as slightly longer itineraries, thereby maximising on travel vs time on the ground. The new product will deliver a seamless and more personal approach where bells and whistles are the standard, but we will still throw in a few surprises along the way.”

The new SkySafari East Africa itinerary has been carefully crafted to combine the magic of two African safari giants in one seamless epic journey. The 13 day itinerary starts in the Kenyan capital of Nairobi at Hemingways hotel, built on an old coffee plantation at the base of the Ngong Hills. The following day the SkySafari plane takes off from Wilson Airport to Elewana Tortilis Camp Amboseli in the foothills of the majestic Mount Kilimanjaro bordering Amboseli National Park, home to 100-strong herds of elephant, including big old tuskers.

Guests will have two days to capture the iconic photo of elephants in front of Kilimanjaro before heading to Elewana Loisaba Tented Camp in the impressive 56,000 acre Loisaba Conservancy.

Sitting within Northern Laikipia, it’s a ravishing landscape of rolling river valleys, rich forests and open plains and home to the Big Five and endangered rarities like wild dog and more than 260 species of birds. The Kenya adventure concludes with two nights in the Masai Mara at Elewana Sand River Masai Mara, ideally located on the banks of the serene Sand River.

Day eight of the safari adventure will see guests fly over the border into Tanzania to the Serengeti National Park, where the group will check in to either Elewana Serengeti Migration Campor Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp.

Both camps are the perfect base to explore the abundance of game on offer from the Big Five and cheetah to huge plains herds. The last two days of the journey will be spent staying at the lavish Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro, an elegant Cape Dutch-styled property tucked into the Tanzanian highlands, ideally situated to explore the nearby Lake Manyara and Ngorongoro Crater. The journey will conclude with a flight back to Arusha where guests will be offered a day room at the Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge, before departing for their journey home.

The SkySafari Classic in Tanzania has extended toa ten-day adventure starting at the Elewana Arusha Coffee Lodge, with accommodation in one of the beautifully designed Plantation Houses nestled amongst the coffee bushes. Guests then join the SkySafari plane to transfer to Elewana Tarangire Treetopsfor two nights where elevated rooms built into the Baobab trees offer magical views of Tarangire National Park. The journey continues to Elewana The Manor at Ngorongoro, part of a huge coffee estate with Cape Dutch-style farm houses and day trips to the UNESCO World Heritage Ngorongoro Crater. Guests will have three nights here to immerse themselves in the region before concluding the final three nights at either Elewana Serengeti Migration Campor Elewana Serengeti Pioneer Camp, depending on which is nearer the famous annual migration at the time.

Kempinski Hotels & Resorts

Geneva - Serengeti National Park, Ngorongoro Crater, Lake Manyara and Tarangire are only a few highlights attracting travellers to visit the African country of Tanzania, where more than a third of the landscape is under conservation protection. With its 22 national parks, this year round destination guarantees wilderness seekers a stay in harmony with nature and the world's most diverse safari experiences. Amidst the well-known "Northern Circuit", Kempinski Hotels has now signed management contracts for three outstanding luxurious properties, two elegant lodges and a high-end tented camp, which will be open to wild life lovers and guests as of 2023.

"We are delighted to be extending our international Kempinski portfolio in such an incredible country," said Bernold Schroeder, Chief Executive Officer ad interim and Chairman of the Executive Board of Kempinski Hotels at the signing of the management agreement with the owners. "In line with our brand promise of highest quality standards and to cater to our guests with outstanding destinations, we are continuing our selective expansion by adding high class hotels in exciting parts of the world. While we are happy to be currently extending long term contracts within Europe in partnership with our highly respected owners, we are at the same time moving forward with our expansion around the globe."

Lachezar Todorov, CEO of Helios Lodges Company, comments on the agreement: "With Kempinski Hotels we found a highly reliable and experienced partner, who since many decades delivers luxury experiences to guests around the globe. Their commitment and expertise in hotel industry meets our vision of a long-term partnership for our new projects in Africa, which we hope to become a market leader and a trend setter in this evergrowing market."

Set in extraordinary wilderness sites, the three new Tanzanian Kempinski properties will be ideal to be combined in a roundtrip and offer a luxurious stay in close vicinity to the most demanded attractions in the country. Inspired by the natural elements of surroundings and with a focus on sustainability, each lodge has its own expressive architectural language and distintive character that is unique to its particular, protected environment. With reference to the remarkable tree canopies of Africa, the architecture is dominated by expansive roof structures and projecting shade canopies which provide shelter from the African sun. Spacious terraces and magical outdoor living areas allow the guest to immerse themselves in nature.

19 tents with terrace and outdoor showers, two junior suite tents with an outside pool as well as two family tents with two rooms with more than 200 sqm await guests in the high-end Kempinski Msasa Lodge Lake Manyara. Placed on a ridge overlooking the lake and deep gorges, this luxurious tented camp offers access to world class game viewing and an exceptional birdlife variety.

A World Heritage Site and the world's most well-known wildlife conservation area, Serengeti National Park will be home to the 75 rooms Kempinski Longosa Lodge Serengeti. While the smallest guest rooms start at 71 sqm, the suites start from a size of 98 sqm followed by a three-bedroom villa of 270 sqm and a Presidential Villa of 400 sqm. Bars and lounges, dining area with decks and outdoor cooking, fire pit, outdoor pool, children's play corners and wellness area round off the facilities in the middle of an unspoiled setting of the animal migration corridor.

The third of the new Kempinski properties, surrounded by splendid Baobab trees in the heart of Tarangire National Park, is not only a haven for wildlife viewing, but also for bird enthusiasts who will be amazed by more than 550 species. With 75 guest rooms, suites and villas the offer at Kempinski Kitbong Hill Tarangire is similar to the one of the lodge at Serengeti allowing guests to stay in highest comfort in a scenically attractive environment and to relax in luxury after an exciting day in the wilderness.

"More than ever travellers are longing to reconnect with the earth and to spend their precious vacation time to immerse themselves in nature", adds Bernold Schroeder. "With these new Kempinski destinations in Tanzania, we are able to offer the best of both worlds to our guests by combining a stay in harmony with nature and the highest quality standards our brand has been known for over the last 125 years."
Main entry point for visitors to the Kempinski Lodges is Kilimanjaro International Airport or the airport of Dar Es Salaam with connections to Arusha or Lobo. Another option would be flights from Zanzibar.
