NBA Season 2014/2015

Report: Irving's father and agent at odds with Cavs over injury

For much of Game 1 of the NBA Finals the Cleveland Cavaliers looked like a group that was more than up to the task of challenging the league's top team during the regular season as former No. 1 overall pick Kyrie Irving was playing spectacular basketball.
However, Irving reaggravated the injury to his left knee that forced him to miss the bulk of the Eastern Conference Finals in the final minutes of the game and almost immediately left the floor and returned to the locker room with the Cavaliers medical staff.
With that being the case, it is easy to understand how emotions would be running high in Irving's camp as both Kyrie's father and his agent apparently have concerns over how the franchise has handled this knee injury.
According to a report from Brian Windhorst of ESPN.com, Irving's father and his agent, Jeff Wechsler, have been less than pleased with the situation at hand for a couple of weeks now.
There’s been some tension between these two sides for weeks now. Irving’s father and Wechsler, sources said, have been preaching caution with Irving and this knee issue. Naturally, they are focused on his long-term health and have concern that playing on a weakened knee — what the Cavs have said publicly was a bad case of tendinitis — could put him at risk of suffering a greater injury. Going to see Andrews was part of the entire group’s efforts to get a full handle on what Irving was facing and get independent advice on the situation.
Of course on the other side, the Cavs want Irving to play as long as he’s not seriously hurt. As Irving was limping through the start of the conference finals against the Hawks, it was easy to identify some mild friction. As Irving was preparing to get a second opinion, there was a sense he was being challenged to play through it.
It is easy to understand where both sides are coming from in this case. Naturally, Irving's father and his representation want to make sure that Kyrie is not doing any harm to himself by continuing to try and fight through this injury in order to take the floor with his teammates while the franchise knows having Irving on the floor provides the organization with their best chance at winning a title.
Cavaliers head coach David Blatt was asked to comment on the situation during his media availability on Friday but, unfortunately, [link url="]http://www.twitlonger.com/show/n_1smhplvhad little to say on the topic[/link].
In the end, it will be the results of the MRI that determine the next course of action for Irving as, assuming he's done no significant damage to his knee, the Cavaliers will surely hope that round the clock treatment is enough to help Kyrie feel up to playing in Game 2 on Sunday night.

Kesho ni kesho, asemaye kesho kutwa ni mmbeya!

For all intents and purposes this series was over the moment Kyrie went down.

Nadhani hata kisaikolojia hilo linaweza kuwaathiri.

Ila tusubiri tuone maana it ain't over till the fat lady sings.

No I dont think so, not with the Warriors. I have watched the boys play without Curry and they performed so good. You remember the other day? The CAVs were up by 12 points when Curry, Bogut and Klay went to the bench. I am sure you know what happened to the deficit without these three. The boys have teamwork and with Speight now fully recovered I have no doubt they can do it. Nevetheless, it is true they need Curry for the boost "kisaikolojia"

But Steph Curry is not just another player. He is their team leader, their most prolific scorer, and much more.

Without him in the lineup it's a whole different ballgame especially if you are going against the locomotive.

On balance, however, the Warriors have a much better supporting cast although that gets offset by the presence of the locomotive on the other side of the court.

The locomotive alone is probably equal to Klay, Andre, and Draymond combined:becky:.

But, this is just hypothetical so it doesn't mean much.

What's not hypothetical, though, is that the CAVS are severely shorthanded and just about everybody and their grandmama admit that that is a serious blow to them.
