NBA Season 2014/2015

NBA Season 2014/2015

9 Points lead.. They are taking this.. Clippers wanaweza wakapita aisee

Tuombe hilo, lakini Spurs ni moto wa kuotea mbali wanaweza kuanza kutungua 3 points na kibao kugeuka within few minutes, dakika zilizobaki bado ni nyingi. Clippers wakizembea itakula kwao. Namuona mtotowa kocha Doc Rivers naye akijitahidi kuisaidia Clippers ishinde leo.

I think the Clips got this one.

The Spurs have been playing very inconsistently.

And they are not playing with the same intensity, energy, and sense of urgency as they did in games 2 and 3.

Danny Green has 0pts. Not a good omen at all.

Parker is missing free throws like crazy. Horrible, just horrible.

For a team without home court advantage you can't afford to give one at home.

And for them to repeat they will have to win on the road.

Not impossible...but not easy, either.

Yeah! but with 6 minutes to go, it is too early to count them out.

Nope, but they have the ability to change the game with 3 minutes to go. It seems this one is over.

Do you think they are playing with enough urgency and intensity?

I think not.

They may not get out of the quarter finals round if they are this inconsistent.

I mean, CP3 is killing them tonight.

Yeah! Their performance is shaky I don't think they have the ability to defend their title.

But watch game 5.....

When their backs are against the wall they always tend to come through...

Then they get your hopes up high again only to disappoint you in the next game.

But they are not out yet.

The series just got tied up and there's no telling who'll get game 5 because the Clips themselves aren't the best model for consistency.

We'll find out come Tuesday night.

And things just got extra interesting in the east.

Kevin Love has a dislocated shoulder and he could very well be out for the remainder of the playoffs.

With that in mind, how do the Cavs get past Chicago who are playing very well right about now.

I guess we'll find out come next weekend in what is shaping up to be perhaps the best weekend in sports in recent memory (you got the NFL draft, May-Pac in Vegas, MLB, NBA playoffs...).

But then again Chicago is a shell of itself without Derrick Rose, who seems to get injured all the time.

Only time will tell.

What was the biggest
surprise of the weekend?
Adande: The Nets outscoring the
Hawks over the final three quarters.
In a weekend that yielded no
upsets from the 6-8 seeds, at least
the Nets managed to make it close
against the Hawks. That's more
than they could do in their previous
visit to Atlanta, a 32-point blowout
that was one of Brooklyn's four
losses in its final seven games of
the regular season. And if injuries
to Atlanta's Al Horford and Paul
Millsap linger, maybe this series
will be closer and last longer than
we expected.
Elhassan: Derrick Rose looked as
consistently explosive as we've seen
him all season long. The Bulls'
offense didn't need his stellar play,
but it definitely served as the
knockout blow to Milwaukee in
Game 1.
Stein: There were times in their
respective series openers that the
weight of the No. 1 seed, after 60-
win seasons, was evident in both
Golden State and Atlanta. It's a
little too soon to suggest so-so
performances in Game 1 mean
anything, but it inevitably gets your
attention when the Warriors hike
the lead as high as 25 points in the
third quarter and then fail to cruise
to the finish in their usual manner.
Windhorst: Honestly, I wasn't really
surprised by anything. Maybe the
egg the Blazers dropped in
Memphis and how much the Spurs
struggled on offense. But almost
everything that took place was
either generally predictable or fit
into typical Game 1 variance. There
are plenty of players I'm expecting
to bounce back from bad starts.
Young: The Spurs' little mistakes.
We hold them to a higher standard
because of who they are and what
they've accomplished, but the open
misses, the poor free throw
shooting, the sloppy turnovers and
inconsistent offense weren't very
Spurs-like at all.

LETS HOPE HE`LL BE BACK...
[h=2]Will Hasheem Thabeet Be Given Another Opportunity At NBA Level?[/h]
As the second overall pick in the 2009 NBA Draft, it's safe to say that Hasheem Thabeet holds the dubious honor of being one of the biggest draft busts in recent memory. He played with four teams (the Grizzlies, Rockets, Blazers, and Thunder) in five seasons from 2009-14, averaging 2.2 points and 2.7 rebounds through 220 games.

Scouts, coaches, and other talent evaluators on the big league level often say that should a respective big man have just enough talent, they'll likely be in the NBA sooner, rather than later. At 7'3" and 260 pounds, it's safe to say that Thabeet boasts the type of size and stature that is well desired (and often difficultly obtained) by such teams desperate for capable players down in the low post or on the defensive end.
Nevertheless, Thabeet has seemingly received ample opportunity to strut his stuff. He remained in the NBA for parts of five seasons, and failed to meet expectations early on. Of course, expectations are often set by those around you. A player doesn't have much control over them. Nevertheless, Thabeet didn't really come close to meeting the mark.
Thus, he's found himself in the D-League this season by way of the Grand Rapids Drive. And while his production may not be as eye-popping as one may like for such a former NBA lottery standout, it's certainly respectable, nonetheless. As someone more comfortable with doing the dirty work down low, Thabeet is anchoring the Drive's defense. The 28 year old is averaging 5.9 rebounds and 2 blocks to go along with 6.7 points (on 58% from the field) in just over twenty minutes per contest.
Thabeet isn't being asked to do too much, but perhaps that's for the best at a time like this. With the pressure finally off of him once and for all, he's been able to find success in smaller doses. On Monday night, he broke out of his shell for a change, logging 20 points, 11 rebounds, and an all the more impressive seven blocked shots. Such an effort helped Grand Rapids gain specific ground on the division-rival Fort Wayne Mad Ants. Despite being 18-21 on the season, the Drive remain just four games behind the Sioux Falls Skyforce for the division-lead.

It's time to shake the lottery tag from Thabeet's reputation. It's a expectation he's not ever likely to meet. Still, he's showing some real positive signs in the D-League. Taking things with a grain of salt and displaying a positive attitude throughout, the former UConn standout is finding ways to impact his team's success. That's arguably even more important than individual production.

Having said that, when it comes to his own progression, perhaps Thabeet is doing enough to warrant another look come NBA Summer League. Teams need to understand what he can and will do best. Should they allow him to come off the bench and man the middle, providing relief for a team's respective starters, an NBA could find themselves benefitting from quite the efficient of services on the defensive end from Thabeet.
In the meantime, he'll have to continue proving he can do just that as the Drive eye the postseason in the coming weeks.

[h=1]NBPA unveils first-ever Basketball Players Awards[/h]
NEW YORK - In response to significant input from its members, the National Basketball Players Association (NBPA) confirmed today that they will launch the first annual Basketball Players Awards in Las Vegas this July. In the time honored tradition of identifying excellence through peer review forged by The Emmy Awards, The Grammy Awards and The Academy Awards, the Basketball Players Awards are voted on by the league's active players. Voting has been underway for several weeks.
"We as players want the opportunity to recognize our peers," said Carmelo Anthony. "We are making that happen with our own award show."
Basketball Players Awards will be presented for the following categories:
* Most Valuable Player
* Best Rookie
* Man of the Year
* Best Defender
* Global Impact Player
* Hardest to Guard
* Clutch Performer
* Coach You Would Want to Play For
* Best Home Court Advantage
* Player You Secretly Wish Was on Your Team

"Our players have long wanted to recognize greatness from within their own ranks, and with the first-ever Basketball Players Awards we have created a vehicle for them to do so," said NBPA Executive Director Michele Roberts. "The level of participation from players in the voting process has been overwhelming so far and we are looking forward to unveiling all of the results this July in Las Vegas."
The NBPA has engaged entertainment management and production experts Prospect Park to help produce the awards ceremony.
