NBA Season 2015 - 2016: Special thread

Nyani Ngabu, here is an example of what coaches are supposed to do...the following is how one sports analyst described the third finals game between CAVS and GSW at Quicken Arena last year;

If this was a boxing match, Cleveland simply took the more polished and stylistically better fighter and turned the contest into an ugly street brawl, which gave them an opportunity to win. Cleveland was successful in imposing their will on the more talented Warriors. When Golden State wanted to jab and dance, Cleveland was able to clinch and slug it out on the inside. The result? Cleveland held a 2-1 series lead and had an opportunity, at home, to take a commanding lead.

Kerr, the GSW coach, noted this and so arranged his squad determined to turn tables against the Cleveland side the next time they met. The result? A blowout game. The CAVS were completely eclipsed and confused letting the Warriors dictate the pace of the game. This is what Coaches do and this I think is why Blatt lost his job.

Far from it, this was no shocker, it was overdue. I sensed it last night as I watched him hobble his way around inspite of a comfortable win.

Context matters a lot and I said it was a shocker in this context:

"I think many people saw this coming but just not this quick, myself included."

Those devils, the DUBS, that wrecking crew from the Bay. After last year, last week's nightmare was like adding cayenne pepper to an open wound. Coaches have to come up with some antidote to avoid that kind of humiliation on home turf, once yes but twice!

I'm not even sure what the hell you are talking about there. You tend to ramble, sometimes.

Blatt didn't have much of a chance, not with the King and his subjects breathing down his neck demanding his head.

I don't know about that.

Here we differ buddy, coaches have to mould winning outfits...if they can't, they are out.

Again, context is everything and here you seem to have ignored it once again.

This is what I wrote:

"Because sometimes I think it's not even about the coach.

The coach doesn't get on the hardwood and play."

The operative word there is 'sometimes'. Sometimes means occasionally rather than all of the time.

The coach has to coach and the players have to play. The coach does not get on the hardwood and play. Playing is the players job.

The Cleveland Cavaliers as presently constructed can't beat the GSW or the SAS in a 7-game series.

As presently constructed, you can even plug in the best coach in the league [Popovich] or the legendary Phil Jackson and they will still lose to those two Western conference juggernauts.

Which leads me to suspect there is more to come. I have a sneaking suspicion that Kevin Love might be out of there before the trade deadline.

He has been such a letdown. He can't play defense worth a poop.

Timofey Mazgov could also be on the chopping block for his production numbers have gone south significantly [this season].

So next time please do pay attention to context. It matters a great deal.

Dont underrate yourself dude, some of us are learning a lot from you.

I'm not.

I was just self-deprecating😀.

So LeBron James had his hand in this issue... He and his agent are responsible for the firing of Blatt..... Rick Carlisle has raised his voice "it's embarrassing". The Cavs GM, David Griffin Shameful denying that LeBron had no idea with the firing... Look what he had to say

I've been in this league for so long. There was no connection between players in the locker room even after wins. This has never been before.

The only issue here is that, it has been revealed that the problem is that Blatt had no support from the locker room. He even decided to change the completely change the role of some untouchable players without informing them, making rotations...

It's hinted that at the game against Gwarriors, Tyronn Lue was even calling some of the time outs.. The players were close to him than the head coach...

"LeBron James doesn't run this organization " has claimed Cavs GM, David Griffin.

Anyway it's time for the noisy Oracle Arena.... Coach Kerr will be on the sidelines today

Curry isn't human.... Through the first half he has recorded his 200th 3 pointer of this season....

Hiyo point 3 ya 200 sasa.. It's a buzzer beater from downtown.. Yaani one foot before the half court line... Na hajatumia board... In the end of the first quarter he fired the buzzer beater from downtown but he was out of time...

You've got to guard him from when he's being bounded in the ball.

Curry is definitely nobody's cup of tea. The things he does can make one wonder whether he is really human...humans couldn't be so perfect!

All the best Mr.tyronn🙂

Curry posted 200+ 3 pointers four seasons in a row, he is the first and only player to do that and still kuna mtu anasema Jamal Crawford is better three pointer than him.. This is the biggest and boring joke...

Lebron is such a cry baby... Sasa Blatt alikuwa na tatizo lipi??

He is pushing to hard to get the third ring but he wont get no shit... Akubaliane na hali tu
The blow out was a wake up call...They realized that, they had a long way to go..
...however..Blatt's dismissal was just a way to vent out Management's frustration..As long as they keep on with their iso plays there will be zero chance of Winning it all ,with whoever they face against in the west..

All the teams I support have changed coaches this season!

Simba, Liverpool FC and now CAVs! Ngoja nione nini kinafata.

teheteh..inabidi ujitathmini mzee...Kaoge maji ya bahari kuondoa nuksi.....

Do we have do disregard Curry being a point guard just because he doesn't assist much? That's being very unprofessional I can say, these are claims which a NFL fan should be having.... Curry takes most passes before an assist... He creates chances for assists... In football we can say he has key passes in the game.. He's the point guard of his own vision and he doesn't have to be Rondo or Cp3. Nobody calls Westbrook a small forward as he's a triple double threat...

Curry invites for double teams, leaving one player free like Draymond Green or Harrison Barnes has most would guard Klay due to his shooting... This results to buckets for Green or assists. And this is the reason why Green loves Curry being on the Court. Curry's passes open up plays.

Key passes are probably one of the most underrated and overlooked aspects of the Any game even football... These are always killer passes.. What Curry does with his passes is essentially opening up the play up completely for his team putting the defending team on the back foot immediately.

True appreciators of any game must ideally be able to understand the value of key passes. And of course why do we have to hate.... Instead of being grateful that at least Curry brought up the very new version of a point guard. A point guard who isn't a ball hog.

And getting a best shooter from a point guard position that's a blessing being able to witness. He's both a shooting guard and a point guard.

Sasa wao wanataka Big Results Now, labda kama they are focusing 2017/18.. Not this season...
