New administration under Samia Suluhu gives hope after 5 years of hopelessness

New administration under Samia Suluhu gives hope after 5 years of hopelessness

Deuteronomy 13:1-14:29

6. Testing prophecy

We need wisdom in discerning between true and false prophets. ‘Prophets’ today might include not only those with the ‘gift of prophecy’, but also anyone who speaks ‘in the name of the Lord’ – such as pastors, preachers, teachers and evangelists. In all these cases, we need to distinguish the true from the false.
One of the Old Testament tests of the true prophet comes in this passage. Even if a prophet performs signs and wonders, if he says ‘Let us follow other gods’ the people were warned: ‘You must not listen to the words of that prophet’ (13:2–3). In other words, the people were to test the prophet by his teaching – whether he led people to God or away from him. Jesus says, ‘we will recognise them by their fruit’ (Matthew 7:15–23).

7. Revering God

You are a child ‘of the Lord your God’ (Deuteronomy 14:1) and God’s people are called to be holy to the Lord (v.2a). You have been chosen to be his ‘treasured possession’ (v.2b). Under the old covenant this involved strict rules as to what could and could not be eaten. Under the new covenant, Jesus declared all food clean (Mark 7:19).
Under both the old and new covenant, one of the ways in which you ‘revere’ the Lord is through your giving (Deuteronomy 14:22–23). It is a blessing to give. God blesses you as you bless others, and so that you can bless others (v.29c). In particular, God promises here to bless us in our work (v.29). God’s vision for his people is as a community, upheld in mutual giving. As we saw in today’s reading in Proverbs, reverence for the Lord is ‘the beginning of wisdom’ (Proverbs 9:10). And ‘if you are wise, your wisdom will reward you’ (v.12).

Lord, thank you that I am your treasured possession. Please help me to grow daily in wisdom.

KESHA LA ASUBUHI.

KUTOA KILE ULICHONACHO.

Nafsi ya mtu mkarimu itawandishwa; anyweshaye atanyweshwa mwenyewe. Mithali 11:25.

MUNGU ATUBARIKI SOTE.

Not having a huge number of academic qualifications, I take comfort from these verses:
‘Let all who are simple come in here!... Leave your simple ways and you will live; walk in the way of understanding... The fear of the Lord is the beginning of wisdom’ (Proverbs 9:4,6,10).

Dr. Wilbard Slaa is worried about keeping his plum job after change of supervisors so he is auditioning to endear himself to the heart and mind of his prospective new employer. So his recent folly is sputtering from a position of insecurities not otherwise..

We have no problem with Dr. Slaa casting doubt on the relevance of opposition post hapakazitu era. Very much within his constitutional right but to claim the opposition will die is a diabolical lie because even God has Lucifer to contend with, My Lord Christ Jesus had Judas Iskariot and Nyerere had Kambona. And, in all the three cited cases the opposition wasn't from without but from within. So ridiculing at opposition outside CCM is to say the least very naive as more detrimental opposition is inside CCM than is outside it..."kikuumacho ki nguoni mwako" very pertinent today.

But Dr. Slaa has failed to read the current political climate which is retreating from confrontational politics that were regrettably [emoji15] Dr Wilbard Slaa's lone incursion to earn an ambassadorial job.

Sadly, what worked in hapakazitu era no longer an asset but a liability. The new administration is not interested to vilify or weaken the opposition but to strengthen it as a tool to help this nation to move forward. The scripture says in the multitude of counsellors there's safety. And the opposition if well nurtured and guided may be a fountain of creativity and light where there's darkness.

The politics of identity, stirring animosity and widening fissures no longer have a place in a nation where we are trying to build a very prosperous nation that to be in the opposition is not a liability but an asset.

After this analysis, we project Dr. Slaa will soon be relieved of his ambassadorial duties on mandatory age retirement albeit we know as an ambassador we came to a horror realization he knew nothing about foreign relations. So he was and still is extremely ineffective...the less we talk about his incompetence the better to all of us. In fact, we can add albeit reluctantly because he is a blue eyed boy on foreign matters this is why he finds pleasure to dabble in domestic issues. And, his favourite punching bag is the opposition where he fumbles a huge axe to grind after CDM dumped his 2015 presidential bid in favour of a controversial political figure in Lowassa. Ever since, he has nursed a very venomous grudge to loudly heckle the opposition because they had refused to butter his piece of loaf both sides. By extension he is now rooting for CCM because his bread is well taken care of or otherwise he will jump ship. He left CCM not for any other reason but for selfish ones, after in 1995 Mkapa had snubbed his Karatu parliamentary seat bid despite winning the opinion vote there against Mr. Patrick Qorro, a darling of Mkapa and by then Mr. Qorro was a CCM insider...and, as a result Dr Wilbard Slaa is by no means a principled man a nation can tap wisdom from but a cold calculating belly worshipper....

His ambassadorial appointment was to buy his cooperation in belittling the opposition but now the political terrain has shifted beneath his tiny feet and shockingly he is oblivious of it, as a result he has become redundant in our ever changing political equation and showing him the door is all is needed...NOW! We need unifiers not dividers....now than ever before.

Claiming hapakazitu gave the opposition some arcane life breathing cause to hang on is also disingenuous not only because Dr. Slaa dared not to air his polarizing views during the strongman reign but he is doing it now because it is politically safe and potentially profitable to praise the new leader via cunningly berating of the deceased legacy who is now powerless to push back...hapakazitu must be turning in his grave seeing he is being betrayed by the very people he once overtrusted and generously rewarded...that the word of God may be fulfilled that the enemies of a man are those near him, even his own inner cycle, including his own household!

As a notabene rider, we have intentionally skipped Dr Wilbard Slaa beleaguered priesthood and marital tantrums because if we had spared him not the unpleasant coverage and exposè of his whole lifetime biography will be replete of convulsions...

The appointment of Dr. Mpango as the Vice President is a huge disappointment.

If words were gold beggars would ride. James Dotto did evil in his sight but he did nothing. Shops were closed in his sight yet he condoned the closures. He could not even keep Dangote to produce the cement we badly need...

When BOT looted Bureau de change in Arusha he looked the other way.

We keep asking ourselves what was his contribution at the Treasury to merit the veepstakes? So far we see nothing worthwhile save for aggressive tax collection misplaced efforts.

VAT he found it at 18% he left it at that extortionate level!

Electricity taxes of 23% he left them intact undisturbed. Ewura and Rea continued picking tax revenue and went on to abuse it. Rea have been doling out projects parting with 70% of the contract sum while workdone stands at 30%. Instead of draining the swamp by removing all taxes overcharged on electricity he saw no evil...and today, he claims he is not kind...mimi siyo mpole..if we care, at all.

No tax exemption on airport services to attract more planes to land in our soil leaving our airports being overly underutilised.

The cited taxes are job killers and he read no evil...

Whether he is strict or not his five year record at Treasury leaves us with no choice but to conclude Dr. Mpango is not an agent of social change.

He nurses no presidential ambition of his own so far and we believe this appointment is entirely based on political realignment as 2025 CCM presidential nominations loom in the horizon...

But as to fill the veepstakes we strongly feel this is a huge step backwards and Madam president should know the honey moon is truly over even before it started..

His fan base claim he was afraid to rebuke James Dotto but if this is true then he is a coward, and his now claims of strictness and heroism are unfounded. He has a record for us to rummage

We gonna do our job impartially

In past, we indicated to break with our murky past we needed veepstakes to go to someone who was not in the government. Someone like Professor Mark Mwandosya who would have brought in the cabinet a fresh way of running the government.

We understand the good Professor downside is his severally presidential bids pose questions of whether in 2025 he will be contented with the veepstakes without challenging his boss.

Seems powerbrokers did not trust him to hem in on his presidential ambition or just out of sight out of consideration.

We believe nobody even remembered him as they were scouring to fill the veepstakes.
