EFCC WHISKS AWAY PRESIDENTIAL ASPIRANT OKOROCHA - ARISE NEWS REPORT

Hali hiyo ilitokea baada ya mkwamo wa masaa 8 ya jitihada za kumkamata senata huyo kutokana na wafuasi wake kuwa wamejazana katika makaazi ya kifahari ya seneta Rochas Okorocha jijini Abuja. Hatimaye maofisa wa Idara ya Kupambana na Rushwa waliweza kumkamata seneta huyo na kumtoka naye mbio kuelekea ofisi za idara hiyo.
Nigeria's anti graft agency, the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has finally arrested Senator Rochas Okorocha, after over eight hours of standoff between the commission officers and his supporters at his residence in Maitama, in Abuja Nigeria's capital.
The agency had earlier invaded the residence of the former Imo State governor and All Progressives Congress presidential aspirant but met some resistance before forcefully whisking him away.
EFCC had explained that Okorocha jumped an administrative bail he was granted and had refused to honour its invitations. He is accused of diverting public properties worth N2.9 billion while he was governor of Imo State.
