A survey was done before launching to find out if kenyans are willing to pay to use a toll road 65% responded in the affirmative, 20% were not decided until they see the project, the rest responded in the negative. The range given by respondents on the amount they are willing to pay ranged from kshs 50-200 per day, it has been decided to settle at kshs 155 per day per car. This will enable the private investor to get back their money and make a small profit then transfer the road to the government.
I concur, in fact Nairobi loses about 60 million shillings daily due to traffic snarl ups, some passengers have missed flights due to traffic. This will change all that and also make JKIA a preferred hub in the region, we also need such in Mombasa and Nakuru.We should have lots of them around, elevated through our cities, some of us are more than willing to pay that toll fee since amount of time saved when pursuing deals is awesome.
