Wahadhiri wa Vyuo Vikuu vya Umma nchini humo, ambao kwa sasa wamegoma kutokana na mgogoro wa malipo yao, wamesema Sheria hiyo itajenga jamii bora kwa kuendeleza Taasisi za elimu za juu na kuboresha Ufadhili wa Mfumo wa Elimu ya Juu nchini humo.
Wamedai kuwa Serikali imetelekeza Vyuo Vikuu vya Umma nchini humo kwa kuwa watoto wao wanasoma Vyuo vya Nje ya Nchi wakiwemo Watoto wa Rais na Makamu wake huku watoto wao wakigeuka wahalifu kutokana na Vyuo vya Umma kufungwa.
Muungano wa Wafanyakazi wa Vyuo Vikuu (ASUU) umekuwa kwenye mgomo tokea Februari 14, 2022 kutokana na malalamiko mbalimbali ikiwemo Serikali kushindwa kufadhili Vyuo Vikuu vya Umma inavyostahili.

Public university lecturers in Nigeria, who are currently on strike over pay, have called for a law to regulate the children of government officials studying abroad.
"If this is done, it will build a better society by developing formidable educational institutions and improve funding of the university system in Nigeria," Kingdom Tombra, chairman of the University of Niger Delta Wilberforce Island chapter of the lecturers' union, is quoted as saying in the People's Gazette paper.
"If the rich and poor go to the same university or institution, I don’t think the strike will occur again," Mr Tombra continued. Children of many public officials have gone to university abroad, including the children of the current president and vice president.
"If they school here and their children are here they will show total support for the university system and the tertiary institutions in Nigeria," Mr Tombra commented. The Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) has been on strike since 14 February, leaving many students in limbo.
A 2020 strike by public university lecturers lasted nine months.
The solidarity protest of the labour union in Enugu began at the state’s office of the NLC, near New Market, Enugu North Local Government Area of the state.
Armed police operatives were seen guarding the protest which caused heavy gridlock in the Enugu metropolis.
The protesters, led by the state Chairperson of NLC, Virginus Nwobodo, marched to the Government House, Enugu where they were received by the State Governor, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi, and other officials of the state government.
Mr Nwobodo told the governor that they were in the secretariat to appeal to him to deliver their concerns and dissatisfactions to President Muhammadu Buhari over the ongoing ASUU industrial action. The labour leader said it was unfortunate that the Nigerian government was playing with education in the country despite its importance in the development of the society.
“Keeping our children out of school is dangerous. Some of these children have turned to kidnappers. Some are indulging in kinds of criminality,” he said.
