President Uhuru Kenyatta, in a tweet by State House on Monday, announced that he would host French President Emmanuel Macron in March and establish development projects including rapid transit train.

The rapid transit train service forms part of the Kenya Railways mass rapid transport system that aims to reduce traffic congestion between Nairobi CBD and the JKIA airport.

Details of the president’s visit were given to Uhuru by Frensch ambassador Mrs Aline Kuster-Menager when she visited State House on Monday.

The proposed train project is one among several others that the Kenyatta administration aims to accomplish in collaboration with the French government.

President Emmanuel Macron will be expected in Nairobi for a two-day official State visit in the coming month.

The ambassador was at State House to pay a courtesy call to the Head of State.


  • President Kenyatta responded by asserting that he expects the visit to be a platform for breaking ground in bilateral relations between France and Kenya.
    The two presidents will sign agreements to cover various subjects that are of mutual interests to their countries.
    “Traditionally, Kenya and France enjoy strong bilateral ties and I am pleased that we’ve continued to deepen the relations. I look forward to the visit by President Macron,” President Kenyatta proclaimed.
    Development of the rapid train service between the CBD and JKIA, in collaboration with France, will not only imply stronger relations between the two countries but a milestone in development for Nairobi.

Dunia yote lazima wajue Kenya ndio kitovu cha Afrika, yaani michezo yote hii amecheza rais wetu, sio mtu wa kukenua meno.

Uhuru is far older than me, has been a president for almost ten years, I've seen what he has achieved...actually I've experienced his accomplishments, so what else is there would a danganyikan want me to know about him.
