Rally Tanzania: Kimathi in pursuit of ARC Junior title
Kenya’s McRae Kimathi has lined himself up towards achieving success on the continent.
The 25-year-old makes his maiden regional event away from Kenya as he chases the African Junior Rally title this weekend in Tanzania. He will be cruising a Ford Fiesta R3, on its second outing after Safari Rally Kenya.
“I hope to get more racing time in the weekend’s event. I expect to get more exposure and skills with the car.
“The roads here are so smooth. They literally are calling for speeds. But I will push where I can and focus on my target which is finishing the event and maybe get a top ten finish,” he told Kawowo Sports.
The Kenyan will be in search of his first ARC points after his previous car; Subaru Impreza was ineligible to score during the Kenya Equator rally where he finished eighth overall.
