-Pongezi kwako pia Ancelot kwa kuibadili hii Madrid, miaka 5 iliyopita Madrid ilikuwa ni timu ya kudefense, yaani viungo wakabaji wawili, Alonso na Khedira ila leo hii ni Toni Kroos pekee anayekamata dimba na kufanya timu isonge mbele ktk mashambulizi akisaidiwa na Modric na James.

POST MATCH ANALYSIS:

Atletico Madrid 0-0 Real Madrid
Real Madrid played a very crucial match tonight at the Vincente Calderon,a match which could really have shaped the course of our season but despite playing well and creating chances,Real Madrid was unable to score against it's cross town rival's home ground for the 4th consecutive time in this season, but on the bright side Real Madrid didn't concede either and the tie will now be decided at the Santiago Bernabeú.

DEFENCE:
Real Madrid defense was good tonight and it can't be criticised although there were some moments in the game when our defence seemed to be exposed but other players covered well and we played as a solid defensive unit tonight. Varane,Ramos,Carvahal and Marcelo were all very brilliant tonight.But Real Madrid has faced a huge blow in terms of Marcelo missing the next leg of the tie due to the yellow card.This might be a very important factor in the 2nd leg as neither Coentrao,nor Nacho can replicate Marcelo's work rate and both of them won't be much confident due to lack of playing time. Sergio Ramos talked himself into getting booked too but he led our defense brilliantly tonight.

MIDFIELD:
James,Kroos and Modric started in our midfield tonight and played exceptionally well for the first half and impressed me too much.I wanted Real Madrid to play a 4-4-2 with Ronaldo and Benzema upfront but Carlo really did a great job in managing his 4-3-3 in the first half.After the first half and Simione's team talk they started to play well against our midfield and i think Carlo was slow in deciding to bring Isco on in the 75th minute as playing Isco as a false 9 in the second half could have helped us alot and confused Simione too but Carlo knows these things much better and probably didn't want to lose the physicality in his side due to the way Atleti play.

ATTACK:
Bale Benzema and Ronaldo started well today and Bale missed a one on one which he should have scored but their keeper Jan Oblak did a fairly good job and kept his shot out.Jan Oblak made some really good saves tonight in tge first half.BBC was almost silent in the second half and Atletico's defenders marked them really well in tight spaces.
In my point of view this isn't a good result for Real Madrid as scoring an away goal is always important because if we get anotjer scoreless draw at Bernabeu then the match will head into extra time and any other draw (1-1,2-2,3-3 etc) will result into Atletico's progress to the next round.But nevertheless it's not a bad one either and Real Madrid has everything to play for at the Santiago Bernabeu and avenge themselves for the losses of CDR,Spanish Cup and Liga against Atletico.Yes,you read it right,Real Madrid has already lost the chance of winning two cups due to Atletico and have also lost the advantage in Liga due to the league double by Atletico.So I hope Real Madrid will win in the UCL against Atletico and break their voodoo.

We will win the 2nd leg against Atletico next week

Support is good, but the fact that we are celebrating a draw with Atleti is even more painful. I swear i was praying Jupp came back, insteada funny eyebrow looking Italian.
 
The 1st 45 minutes, they let us play. In the 2nd half, they decided to play, and we struggled to keep up

Exceptional performance from the Brazilian. He was a central figure in attack and a rock at the back. The only blemish on his night was the booking that means he'll miss the second leg.

Raphaël Varane
He put in a fantastic match. Hugely solid in the air and extremely quick in the tackle, the Frenchman produced a burst forward in the final minutes of the first half that almost led to a goal.

Gareth Bale again received dissapointing words towards him after leaving Valdebebas last night..."Run's but can't finish" is what people screamed towards him.
 
Benzema will now undergo tests to determine the extent of his injury after limping off the pitch last night.

- I can't imagine without Marcelo and Benzema in a second-leg against Atletico.
