UEFA Champions League Match Day 6 - Post Match Analysis
Full Time: Real Madrid 4-0 Ludogorets Razgrad
As expected,Real Madrid cruised passed the minions of Europe without any significant difficulty and broke the all time Spanish record of 18 consecutive wins by registering their 19th
straight win tonight. A very tough feat to achieve these days in Europe undoubtedly.
DEFENCE:
Coentrao and Arbeloa were our full backs tonight,both of them were good but not as good as Marcelo & Carvajal,Arbeloa's crossing s really below par and we definitely need a good cover for Carvajal in future.Varane & Nacho replaced Pepe and Ramos tonight and they were solid at the back,Keylor made some decent saves too.
MIDFIELD:
We played with a 4-4-2 formation today with Bale n Isco as wide midfield players and Illara & Kroos slotted in the centre as a double pivot. Illaramendi had his 3rd consecutive start of the season tonight and that guy has literally evolved himself after some bench time.His maturity has increased and he has been playing really well these days.I hope he plays at the exact level against better opponents too.Isco and Kroos were great as usual,nothing new about their supreme abilities.
ATTACK:
Real Madrid played its natural attacking game initially and opened the scoring when Varane's header was blocked by Ludogorets defender who used his hand,the player was sent off and Ronaldo converted the resulting penalty with ease,that was his Goal no 72 in UCL! Gareth Bale headed a Toni Kroos corner in the 38th minute to make it 2-0 for us.I'd appreciate Bale today, he seemed very rusty in the last 3,4 games but played really well tonight. Arbeloa looked determined to score tonight from the start and he got one in the 77 minute. The fourth goal was an interesting one,the new guy Alvaro Medran took a shot in front of the goal which ended up in the net over the head of the goal keeper.Ronaldo was determined to get his second of the night and kept working hard for it but was unlucky.Chicharito was a bit selfish tonight and failed to convert several chances.
In the second half Real Madrid over played several times and didn't really apply finishing touches to their moves.Anyways we won the game comprehensively with a clean sheet.This was Real's 10th clean sheet in their last 14 games.
All eyes on the draw of Round of 16 now which will decide Real Madrid's next opponent and will be held on 15th December. We will share links for that.

-Only one player needed more matches than Cristiano Ronaldo (109) to captain his first Champions league match: Seedorf (117)
-Only Luís Figo (10) has scored more penalty goals than Cristiano Ronaldo in the UCL history (level with Messi, 8)
