The 20-man squad for the Eibar game

Estadio Municipal de Ipurua for La Liga matchday twelve.

Carlo Ancelotti has named a 20-man squad for the La Liga matchday 12 clash, which sees Real Madrid take on Eibar in the Estadio Municipal de Ipurua (Saturday, 6pm CET).

REAL MADRID SQUAD:
Goalkeepers: Casillas, Keylor Navas and Pacheco.
Defenders: Varane, Pepe, Ramos, Coentrao, Marcelo, Carvajal, Arbeloa and Nacho.
Midfielders: Kroos, James, Bale, Khedira, Isco and Medrán.
Forwards: Cristiano Ronaldo, Benzema and Chicharito.

CARRAGHER: How can Bayern change? Do you think what happened with Madrid in the Champions League semi-final last season shows that teams have worked Bayern out?

ALONSO: It is difficult to copy Real Madrid as not every team has those players who can run with such explosion, like Ronaldo.

CARRAGHER: Is he the best player in the world?

ALONSO: For sure. I said recently if Manuel Neuer or another German player won the Ballon d'Or, it would be fair as they won the World Cup. But if Ronaldo wins it again, it would also be fair for the season he had, winning the Champions League. He is the best player I have played with. After you, of course!

The Liga BBVA schedules for matchday 17 and 18 have now been announced. For the seventeenth matchday of the competition, Real Madrid will face Valencia in Mestalla on Sunday 4 January at 5pm CET. For their following fixture, on matchday eighteen, they will play hosts to Espanyol in the Santiago Bernabéu, on Saturday 10 January at 4pm CET.

Taking nothing for granted against Eibar


Real Madrid, who have racked up thirteen wins in a row, travel to Ipurua for the first time in the championship.

Ancelotti pointed out that the Croatian's absence will be covered by either Khedira or Isco. Additionally, the Italian warned of the difficulty this match poses: "It will be an intense and aggressive match. We know it is not easy to play there." All the same, the Whites have been on fire on the road, racking up almost identical figures both home and away.

Meanwhile, Eibar have got off to a strong start in what is their inaugural season in the topflight. With a tally of 13 points, they currently find themselves mid-table. Their record in Ipurua reads one win, three draws and one defeat. The Basque side will play hosts to Real Madrid without Didac Vila and Piovaccari, who are injured, and de Raúl Navas and Lillo, who are suspended. Arruabarrena is their top marksman with four goals to his name.
