Carvajal: "We must apologise to the fans"
No sooner had the game finished, Dani Carvajal was prepared to face the music and talked about his team's defeat against Atlético de Madrid, giving his take on Real's terrible game.
The defeat: "Firstly, I would like to apologise to the fans. We weren't good enough and all we can do is congratulate the rivals, as they played better. What we have to do is put this game and this result behind us as soon as we can."
Poor image: "They may be the worst 30 minutes that Real Madrid have played this season, for sure, giving away the ball and not creating any danger."
A blow: "For now it's too early to take any lessons from this, it's too recent, but yes, the truth is that this defeat has hit us hard."
The derby track record: "The last few results have been in their favour. We have to turn this dynamic around, because we are able to do so."
A drubbing: "It's a league game, not a qualifier for the cup or Champions League, but it hurts a lot. I insist that we must just forget it."
