Real Madrid completed the third training session of the week.

Real Madrid have undergone another training session as they prepare for the visit of Deportivo to the Santiago Bernabéu (Saturday, 6pm CET). Alongside the members of the first team, Ancelotti included Odegaard and academy men Lucas Torró, Burgui, Derik, Narváez and León. Chicharito did work indoors at the club's facilities, while Ramos, Pepe, James, Modric and Khedira continue with their recovery processes.

Court blocks new Bernabéu

AGREEMENT WITH LOCAL COUNCIL OVERTURNED

The Madrid High Court of Justice (TSJM) has effectively blocked the revamping of the Bernabéu by overturning an agreement issued by the Community of Madrid's Governing Council to modify the city's General Development Plan.

Real Madrid have released a statement on their website confirming the news and noting the following: "Following this ruling, Real Madrid C. F. will work with the City Council and the Community of Madrid to address those aspects that require attention in order to make the Santiago Bernabéu reform project viable".

On 15th November 2012, the Madrid regional government authorised a one-off modification to the above-mentioned plan so as to pave the way for an extensive redevelopment and expansion of the historic stadium including fitting it with a roof and creating new green and commercial areas in the surroundings.

As part of the agreement, which was also approved by Madrid City Council, Real Madrid were to surrender land in the Opañel neighbourhood in exchange, which was earmarked for public use.

The club conducted a lengthy process to settle on a design for the revamped stadium, with German architecture firm GMP eventually getting the nod. It remains to be seen whether the design will now have to be altered following this latest setback. [MARCA]
