mbokaleo ,
I've read what you said and here's my thoughts.
- First of, i love the star trek trilogy and i never knew Spock's home planet name originated from that dispute. So 'Props' to that.
- Second i can see no offense was given so none shall be taken
- But most importantly third ni kua there are alot more theories than these that have been proven wrong over the years, its what makes science SCIENCE. It sets a clear boundary between theories and laws. Na its open to disprove any theory if it does not well explain the facts. As another example ni The photoelectric effect and the general view of radiations(light), many scientists explained the effect but only recentlly, thanks to great minds like Einstein, Plank, Schrodinger and others the theories were put to rest and we now have a totally different view on light not as only a wave but also as a particle. Science is all about trials and errors, you go in blindly so as to come out enlightened.
- Being open to changes kama nilivyosema juu ndo moja ya vitu vinavyotofautisha science and religion. Take a look at this.
-Giordano Bruno (1548 February 17, 1600) and other scientists were burned in the middle centuries for Saying and teaching that the earth rotates around the sun and not otherwise, against religious teachings.
-Astronomer and professor Cecco d'Ascoli, was burned alive in 1327 in a Church for believing that the earth was round.
-Huo ugunduzi wa Galileo uliosema, mpaka sasa tunaamini na kujua kua dunia inazunguka jua ni kweli, ila what i think you do not know is that he was imprisoned, threatened with torture, and forced to recant his beliefs because they disagreed with Religious ones before.
-ALso did you know that before Germs were know by science Religious forks used to teach that diseases are caused by SIN.
The list goes on and on, na sababu ya hawa watu wa dini kufanya hivyo(kuadhibu wanasayansi wanaopingana nao) ni kua waliamini watu watakosa imani nao. Wafuaasi wao wakawa wanaendelea kuwekwa under constant fear na kureject clear facts. Nashangaa hadi sasa kuna watu "Mashahidi wa Yehova" i think wanapinga blood transfusion wakiamini zinapingana na mafundisho yao na hawataenda mbinguni wakikubali. Also some religions condemn the use of contraceptivee pills. What i'm trying to say is religion does not accept changes easily ni kama vile wana exploit something kutoka kwa waumini wake wakiendelea kua kwenye state of unknowing. Mimi as Scientists like Newton (Who was actually a very religious man) and Albert i do accept that there is a GOD out there and as i said before i always approach both simultaneously, i believe we came from dust, and we were created by a powerfull being. Weather there is After life i'm still sceptic but open for ideas. In short as ALBERT EINSTEIN once said "Science without religion is lame. Religion without science is blind."
