The Kenya General had only been there for 3 weeks when that attack happened, The UN was just looking for a scape goat to cover up there own failures for giving the peacekeepers impractical rules of engagement . Infact what the Kenya general did prevented a far worse situation from happening. If they had engaged Govt rebels, then the UN peacekeepers would have been fighting with the South Sudan govt! What do you think would have happened next day????? The UN mission would have been over. Not to forget civilian casualties kiled in the crossfire.

Ofcoarse the UN was under pressure by USA because US aid worker had been raped, USA is the biggest funder of all UN missions, the UN had to be seen to be "doing something about it"...

But the UN did not anticipate Kenya's reaction and the chain reaction it caused, After Kenya started pulling out, The Chinese told the UN if Kenya pulls out, we are also pulling out......

And thats why the UN apologised to Kenya, and aked her notto pull out, and as a sign of good faith, Kenya was given command of the Dafur peacekeeping mission in Sudan and also promised the command of S.Sudan once the term of the current commander ends!!!!

''Let us make a fresh start. I feel that we have to work together to secure peace and security. Let us put the past behind us,'' he said.

He noted UN had full confidence in Kenya’s military.

"As a sign of our confidence in the Kenya Defence Forces, and in the Kenyan government, the UN would like to offer Kenya the Darfur command,'' Guterres added during the Opening of the 28th Ordinary Session of the Assembly of Heads of State and government of the African Union, in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.

Kenyatta agreed to a reset in the relations, and would look forward to senior officials from both sides meeting in Addis Ababa to work out details of the new arrangements

Here is a more recent one, A kdf vehicle stepped on the first ied while on routine patrol, when counter EOD engineers were called, they found two pther IEDs on the same road...As you can see, They have changed tact and are now using plastic IEDs that are undetectable by machines, only sniffer dogs can detect these

So the question would be, Whyis it that KDF soldiers still get bown off by IEDS if they have all that? Before I answer that, I would just like to point out that over 3,000 Americans died in Afghanistan, 80-90% was NOT through gunshot wounds but through IEDs.... They have satelites, Drones with ground penetrating radar, and all kinds of equipments that KDf can only dream of, but still, Over 2,000 were killed by the hands of IEDs.... because those things are damn evective tool, especially onconvoyes on routine patrol, If you spend you time looking for IEDSon a dirt road, you will spend six hours covering 1 km, when you are supposed to patrol 80km in 8 hours on light skinned vehicle that have high mobility.....

GREAT ANALYSIS BRO. These danganyikas will never understand what an assymetrical war is all about. To them they all know about an army facing a clearly defined enemy at a defined place and shooting him until surrender. If that was the case in Somalia we would be out of the place now.

Those are the engagements they have been engaged in, the biggest war they have ever won , the TZ-UG war against Iddi Amin, when the economy of UG was on on the floor and Amin had lost the peoples support and they just wanted him out.

They will come here shouting how they would have eliminated Al-shabab by now and how we are losing.
You will not hear a citizen of the countries who have soldiers in Somalia saying such crap, because they know how the situation is. Then Danganyikas are all over shouting about DRC, rebels in DRC are childs play, they are just fighting over resources, not religious ideologies.

The day TPDF enters Somalia, come we have a real conversation about fighting terror.
 
This is pretty useless information. IEDs are simple explosives that cannot penetrate an armoured vehicle..The americans in afghanistan faced land mines with the kill power of a tank mortars and ofcourse clandestine support by russian bombs and RPGs. The question is why are KDF buying unarmoured vehicles or poor quality vehicles that cannot stand even a mosquito bite while spending millions of dollars?

If KDF thinks that spending their time finding homemade bombs that a simple armoured patrol vehicle can drive over then they are chasing a wild goose.

It still bothers me that KDF dont have night watch in their camps! I mean they eat and drink themselves silly then they all fall asleep like babies and leave no soldier to guard the camp. This is the highest form of incompetence. They think war is a picnic, and these night/ dawn raids have cost them the highest number of soldiers more than IEDs

With this kind of incompetence, lack of dicipline and corrupt procurement of bogus vehicles and artillery, even a small battalion of UPDF or TPDF can simply slaughter the whole KDF

UPDF is in Somalia, TPDF doesnt have MRAPS or Level 3 APCs... the ones they have are ot even more than 50. hata wacha MRAPS, show me pictures of a contiget of regular TPDF in bullet proof vests, I don't think I have ever seen one.

There is no army in the world that has fought a war in fully amoured vehicles, not especially war on terror, you need vehicles with high mobility, easy to exit and enter the car at moments notice, even the US used up-amoured humvees in M.east that have level 2 protection against projectiles and RPG...




# The difference between a land mine and an IED one is professionally done and the other is home made, modifyied to fit the users intended purpose........ The IEDs made by alsabaab are copies of IEDS made in Middle-east from alqaida, isis and the rest... Alshabaab uses experts from M.east...

to know which one is powerful between a mine and IED depend of the explosive used. if you wanna know if IED made by alshabaab is powerful just look at the blast radius at the core

Keep in mind that these ieds are ment to concentrate their blast, upwards, that hole is made from the weak side of the explosion....

Nothing of importance there, Nothing can explain all the numerous lapses in night watch resulting to deadly camp raids.
Nothing but incompetence and corruption can explain purchase of mabati APC's and regular civillian type landrovers in a war.
You can make all the excuses but the fact remains. Kenya cannot sustain war with a Proffesional army let alone rag tag militias
 
Stop complaining too much, before you go for war, you must know well your enemy as part of military intelligence so that you can prepare accordingly, it is stupid to go without good knowledge of your enemy, remember "Failure to prepare yourself, is the preparation for failure".

In South Sudan also KDF failed terribly and you came up with tones of excuses, there is no room for excuses when is war, you must win war by all means, TPDF always wins wars, KDF must copy from TPDF ways of fighting wars, otherwise will continue losing wars forever.

TPDF have never fought a war against a local insurgency let alone terrorists. We have nothing we can learn from you . you only fought a uniformed force who you can easily map out their positions and fire rockets or artillery demolarising them hence advancing .whereas terrorists blend in with the local populace.We only train and learn from the best
 

Because TPDF have strong and capable functioning bodies. We study and foresee the threats before it's too late too little, we had terrorists in Kibiti and Pangani but we eliminated and definitely they are surprised with our tactics.
