Mkuu,
Karata ya wakikuyu na wakalenjin ni karata kubwa katika hizi kura. Jamaa nadhani hakujiamini ama
labda alikua anataka kutuma ujumbe flani sijui...ndo mambo yakaenda vile yalivyoenda. Sasa unajua
hii kitu sasa imekaa kiuwizi uwizi hivi na Raila lazima afikishe kesi mahakamani.
Good Morning Ab-Titchaz,
By saying (Karata ya wakikuyu na wakalenjin ni karata kubwa katika hizi kura) this amounts to hate speech on tribal line.
What is Hate Speech?
Hate speech is, outside the law, communication that vilifies a person or a group on the basis of one or more characteristics such as race, gender, sexual orientation, gender identity, national origin, color, ethnicity, religion, disability, or age.
In law, hate speech is any speech, gesture or conduct, writing, or display which is forbidden because it may incite violence or prejudicial action against or by a protected individual or group, or because it disparages or intimidates a protected individual or group.
I thought Jamiiforums was not a place where hate speech is not entertained.
The spotlight is being turned on the Kenyan Diaspora, who are currently dominating the social media networks with hate speech laden sentiments and arguments.
In an NTV exclusive, the News Readers went through extracts from Facebook denoting comments made in dialogue that reeked of Hate Speech.
In the run-up to the March 4th Elections, London Africa Media Network joined hands with the Ministry of Information & Communications, to look at the dangers posed by the social media networks such as Facebook, bloggers and Youtube postings.
Several consultations were held in a bid to identify ways and means of stemming the increase of hate speech online.
early in the year the Ministry had cracked down on a famous blogger ‘Mashada .com' which was shut down following investigations that revealed, they were engaged in hate speech and despite warnings, failed to curb the vitriol on the site.
With Kenyans all over the world engaged in a massive campaign for peace during and after the elections, there was a lull in the online exchanges on social media. This however seems to have gotten out of hand after the just concluded elections, with many engaging in negative banter on Facebook.
A quick survey indicates that most of these anti-social exchanges were being propagated by Kenyans in the Diaspora, most of whom were not at home during the elections and probably missed out on the national atmosphere that embraced the peace messages extensively.
During the Conference held on the 28th February and facilitated by London Africa Media Network in conjunction with the Ministry of Information & Communication in Nairobi the major focus was on online bloggers, social media and the Vernacular FM Radio services. these were deemed to be the biggest culprits during the 2007/08 post election violence.
This recent development from the social media networks is also coupled with the not so supportive nature of the Foreign Media who have also been noted to pick on the more negative stories surrounding the just concluded elections.
Kenyans however continue to remain firm about their resolve to promote peace in the country, and the message from those interviewed regarding this social media freak-shows is a unanimous -‘Shame on you'-Tribalists' to all those that are engaging in online negativity either in blogs or on Facebook.
Kenyans learned from the chaos and bloodshed of 2007/08 and none of them want a repeat of the same. They are jealously guarding that peace initiative at all costs and will not entertain a few misguided individuals trying to bring disrepute to the country they love.
In the International Media Briefing in London, facilitated by LAMN, the message was one and clear to them; report constructively and avoid over sensitization of issues without verifiable facts. Regardless, some of them came to Kenya hoping for another bloodbath in the midst of fire and brimstone, they got none of that as Kenyans conducted a free and fair election displaying a maturity beyond their dreams.

I think you should be addressing IEBC rather than Raila for whatever this nation is facing.
Where did the ksh 12 billion meant for BVR kits go to? What are unmarked and marked ballot papers doing in an unsealed environment?
According to the electoral practise, all voting material upon completion of the voting exercise ought to be sealed, then ferried and secured at a central store and they can only be opened through a court order.
This begs the question again, why were marked and unmarked ballot papers left lying idle? Who broke their seals?
Is KU a holding center for presidential ballots....but again who broke this particular seals dammit!
It is in this breath that i find IEBC pretty much culpable, a good election done the wrong way.....
They must answer to Kenyans where they took/invested the 12 billion shillings they asked for.
Good questionsI just laugh at how you guys are desperate to produce scoops to prove the election was rigged, how does unmarked ballots kept somewhere amount to rigging?
Raila is as culpable as anyone else in the cabinet, they implored on the iebc to single source for bvr kits, register voters in one month and go to polls two months later. Credible or not, the whole blame doesn't lie with iebc.
I beg to differ.
It's all about perspective and jurisdiction when you bring in definitions like that.
Let it be known to you that saying Wakikuyu na Wakalenjin does not amount to hate speech
however you wanna slice it. Ijapo ningekua natukana kwa matusi na kejeli then that would be
something different.
If I say "Hawa wakalenjin ni wakimbiaji hodari sana"...is that hate speech?
Samahani kama nimekukwaza.
Bamzi, some humour in your comment, ati they are very predictable.lol. If they lose they lose with it the support of Kenyans me included. But i really want them to file that petition, i want to see democracy on trial in black and white else its nonsense if they polarize this nation and cant put up a good fight at the courts.
Again if they dont file it, it will go into records as one of the disputed GE's stolen for the year 2013/2017. A bad history the courts can rewrite and with it rewrite my mind too among other Kenyans that had given up but stories kept coming and coming till they ressurected the doubts.lol.
Atleast u see some laxity on IEBC's part.
