Safaricom's MPesa Transacted $68 Billion... More Than Tanzania GDP

Safaricom's MPesa Transacted $68 Billion... More Than Tanzania GDP

Mnafananisha vitu viwili visivyofanana. Volume of Transactions vs Gross Domestic Product. May be it is because hamfahamu maana ya GDP.

Now lets compare the likes.

From Vodacom Tanzania Prospectus to Capital Market, they have reported an average of TZS 2.6 Trillion (equavalent to around in excess $13 Billions annually). The two strongest MFS providers in Tanzania are M PESA and Tigo Pesa. I will also share the statistics of Tigo Pesa transactions.
We know what GDP is. What we are saying is that the volume of Mpesa transaction in Kenya last year was huge, it exceeded Tanzania's GDP.......which is currently estimated at 55$bn by the way.

U are wrong. 173 na 172 , sio kwa mamilioni. GDP PPP Haitumiwi kudetermine quality of life ya raia. GDP per capita ndoo inaonyesha hali ya maisha ya wananchi.
GDP PPP NI mambo mengine kanisa.
Haitumiwi na nani, yani sasa mnatupangia cha kutumia kudetermine quality ya life.

nyie endeleeni kubishana ila mpesa wanaendelea kufanya yao tu

Kufanya hivyo ni lazma ubadilkshe sarfu hizo into the same unit; na US dollar ndio hupendelewa sana.

Sasa ukichukua tuseme $1, uende Kenya, ubadilishe into the local currency, tuseme unataka kunua mkate na soda. $1 Kenya itaisha hivyo ukinunua hizo bidhaa mbili. Purchasing power parity.

Where did I mention that Kenya economy grew at 19%? I dint say that.
Of course you didn't, but you insisted the realisticity of 19% growth rate!

At this point, Kenya faces some setbacks that make that rate unrealistic.

Safaricom has also introduced an MPesa card to make payments easy.
The card is linked to your Mpesa account, and all you need to do is tap the cashier's device.
If you don't want the card, you can opt for a wrist band or an NFC sticker for your phone. They work the same.

What is your point of contentention here exactly? I made it clear that economic growth rate of those levels for Kenya are not impossible to achieve, but due to the prevailing challenges it is highly unlikely.
