idiot u should feel ashamed huko Kenya hamuwezi fanya local trips with such an aircraft kwa vile outside JKIA, no airport can handle Dreamliner! A reason u do most of ur promotional trips to KIA! Look at the kind of marketing we get from u as no airport can land such a bird in Mt Kenya region n the whole of Kenya.

Mtawafunga Watanzania macho hadi lini? Shit is about to hit the fan. Sasa where is the economic viability ya kuchoma mafuta pili kusafirisha locally?

We have had such tunnels since 1960s! Muache ushamba! Ask the constructor akuambie since that same China Road and Bridge Corporation (CRBC) byilding SGR Kenya, built TAZARA.

Meandering through inhospitable terrain
Within a year track-laying reached Mlimba which is 502 kilometres from Dar es Salaam. Thereafter, for the next one year, construction entered through the most inhospitable terrain of the line. This is the 158-kilometre Mlimba/Makambako section, which is characterized by complicated topographical features. The works in this section alone included excavation of 20 million cubic metres of earth works (about a quarter accounted for the whole line), construction of 46 bridges with total linear length of 4,100 metres, 18 tunnels aggregating 8,253 metres and 362 culverts totaling 11,710 metres.

Construction crosses the border
The track crossed the Tanzanian border at Tunduma into Zambia at Nakonde in August 1973. After the experience of the Mlimba/Makambako section, construction in Zambia with fairly uncomplicated features was fast such that by June 1975, the line reached Kapiri-Mposhi, two years ahead of schedule. Trial operations continued for a year until 14 July 1976 when full operations commenced, after the Government of the Peoples’ Republic of China formerly handed over TAZARA to Tanzania and Zambia.

Engineering challenges
The engineering difficulties involved in building the 1,860 kilometre long railway were immense. It is not easy to fathom the extent of heroism and ingenuity displayed by both the Chinese people, represented by their great engineers and workers and the Tanzanian and Zambian people, who joined the Chinese for the construction of this unique railway. The hostile environment, through which the line often had to pass, did not deter them. When the line was finally completed, almost 89 million cubic metres of earth and rock had to be moved, 320 bridges, 22 tunnels and 2,225 culverts were built.

U did n u r doing the same whether new aircraft is acquired or during promotional visits by respective Aircraft manufacturers to both u and ET i.e. bringing to KIA first. U should ask urself is Kenya not having an alternative airport within Kenya?

That bird will be landing at 4 airports within Tanzania i.e. Zanzibar (AAKIA), Mwanza Airport (MIA), Kilimanjaro (KIA) n Songwe Airport (SIA) for the whole of August. Dodoma's Msalato airport is next!

16% na sio 20% . Kwani unadhani sisi hatusomi habari za Tanzania?

As of June, 2018 the construction work for the first phase from Dar es Salaam to Morogoro had reached 16 per cent, according to Yapi Merkez Planning Chief, Enis Eryilmaz.

According to him, next month, the contractor will start laying of tracks, a move that will increase confidence in many Tanzanians who are eagerly waiting for an electronic train.

Equally, Tanzania Railway Corporation (TRC), Assistant Project Manager, Engineer Machibwa Masanja insisted on Tuesday that by the end of this month, the construction works is expected to reach 18 per cent.

He was speaking when members of a team of the Engineers Registration Board (ERB), led by their Chairman Professor Ninatubu Lema visited the construction sites, to receive a progress report on the implementation of the SGR project.

Almost 15 months since the execution of the project kicked off, already, Tanzanians have so far secured jobs.

According to Mr Eryilmaz, of all the employees currently executing the project, 90.4 per cent are Tanzanians while only 9.6 per cent were expatriates.

“We are really committed to complete the project on time as we are working day and night and we look forward to celebrate the first electric train in Tanzania,’’ insisted Yapi Merkez Deputy Project Manager (Construction), Tamer Comert.

Hata Bujumbura inaweza land but swali nimekuuliza ni kuhusu economic viability of such trips, nilifikiria itaanza direct flights to the US lakini nikakumbuka JNIA haijafika hicho kiwango cha kupewa clearance for such huge undertakings.
Hivi Bombardier zinakazia vyuma wapi? Dream liner nayo mtawajaza wana CCM lini tena for PR?

If u have ever tried to listen to explanations by ATCL, then u would have realized those are promotional trips and r for marketing plus acquainting the new pilots to this bird systems via practical training before continental flights start. Unless u like to sound stupid every time!
