Western banks pour €800mn into Kremlin coffers in 2023 - FT

Despite the US Treasury threatening RaiffeisenBank with sanctions for continuing its business in Russia, the Austrian lender has contributed over half of the tax revenue paid by western banks still operating in Russia last year.

In fact, according to the newspaper, the total revenues are four times than in 2021, before the start of the special military operation.

The other western banks that contributed to banking tax revenues provided by UniCredit, ING, Commerzbank, Deutsche Bank, Intesa Sanpaolo and OTP.

Russian air defense forces block Ukrainian attempt to use ATACMS on Crimea — politician

The Ukrainians used several ATACMS ballistic missiles in an attempt to attack civilians on the peninsula


MOSCOW, April 30. /TASS/. Ukraine’s armed forces made an attempt to attack Crimea using ATACMS missiles last night, Vladimir Rogov, chairman of the We Are Together with Russia movement, said.

"Last night, Russian authorities activated air defenses over Dzhankoy and Simferopol as Ukrainian militants conducted a missile strike at the Republic of Crimea," Rogov wrote on his Telegram channel. According to him, the Ukrainians used several ATACMS ballistic missiles in an attempt to attack civilians on the peninsula.

Unexploded submunitions have been found in the village of Donskoye and an adjacent area outside Simferopol after Ukrainian ATACMS missiles were downed over the peninsula, Crimean Head Sergey Aksyonov said.

Earlier, adviser to the head of Crimea Oleg Kryuchkov called on Crimean citizens to refrain from making photos of air defenses being activated or posting relevant images on social media. Also, traffic was suspended on the Crimean Bridge during the night.

A document insisting that the debris found in the Ukrainian city of Kharkov on January 2 was from a North Korean Hwasong-11 ballistic missile cannot be considered an expert report because it was prepared by several specialists with a different sphere of expertise, a diplomatic source at the UN told TASS.

In the past 24 hours, Ukraine’s Defense Forces operating in the eastern direction eliminated 1,037 invaders and destroyed 20 enemy tanks, 33 armored fighting vehicles, 490 UAVs, and other armaments.
That’s according to the Command of the Khortytsia Grouping of Troops, Ukrinform reports.

The Russian military shot down six Ukrainian operational-tactical US-made long-range Army Tactical Missile System (ATACMS) missiles over the previous 24 hours, the Russian Defense Ministry said on Tuesday.
"Air defense means shot down ten Ukrainian unmanned aerial vehicles, six US-made ATACMS operational-tactical missiles and two French Hammer guided aerial bombs during the day," the Defense Ministry said in a summary.
