Russian military helicopter crew wipes out Ukrainian troops, armor in Kursk area

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. A Russian Mi-28NM helicopter crew has wiped out Ukrainian troops and armored vehicles in a border area of the Kursk Region, according to Russia’s Defense Ministry.

"An army aviation crew piloting a Mi-28NM helicopter delivered an air strike on a concentration of troops and armored vehicles from a Ukrainian unit in a border area of the Kursk Region. <…> According to reconnaissance data, [the detected] enemy troops and armored vehicles were wiped out," the ministry said in a statement.

The Russian Defense Ministry noted that the strike was carried out by air missiles against previously reconnoitred enemy targets. "After using aviation weapons, the crew safely returned to its departure site," the ministry said.

Russian forces liberate Makeyevka in LPR

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Russia’s Battlegroup West has liberated the city of Makeyevka in the Lugansk People’s Republic (LPR), Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a report.

Also, the battlegroup struck Ukrainian troops from four brigades and enemy weaponry in the Kharkov Region, the LPR and the Donetsk People’s Republic (DPR), the ministry added.

Russia puts Ukrainian casualties in Kursk region over past day at 400
According to Russia’s top brass.

MOSCOW, September 29. /TASS/. Ukraine has sustained more than 400 casualties in Russia’s Kursk Region in the past day, the Russian Defense Ministry said in a statement.

"In the past day, Ukrainian forces have lost over 400 troops, nine armored vehicles, including a tank and eight armored combat vehicles, as well as an artillery mount, a Czech-made RM-70 MLRS launcher and nine motor vehicles," the statement reads.

Moscow said on Sunday that its air defences downed 125 Ukrainian drones overnight, in one of the largest barrages seen in Russia since it invaded Ukraine in February 2022. In Ukraine, more than a dozen civilians were injured in an overnight barrage of Russian guide bombs on the southern city of Zaporizhzhia, as the Ukrainian military warned that Russia could be preparing for an offensive in the wider region.
