Putin says response to attacks with long-range weapon on Russian territory considered

MOSCOW, October 27. /TASS/. Russia’s Defense Ministry is considering various options of response to possible attacks with long-range weapons on Russian territory, President Vladimir Putin said in an interview with VGTRK journalist Pavel Zarubin.

Technically such attacks may only be made directly by NATO countries’ military, not by Ukraine, the president stressed. "We will have to respond to it respectively. How to respond, when, where particularly is too early to say so far," he said.

"Of course, our military agency is considering it and it will offer various response options," Putin added.

The Kiev regime is not able to independently carry out high-accuracy strikes deep into Russia, he noted.

Earlier, the Russian president stressed that such attacks would mean the West’s direct involvement in the conflict and a direct confrontation between Moscow and the alliance

Five countries interested in Russia’s state-of-the-art Su-57 fifth-generation fighter

MOSCOW, July 20. /TASS/. Russia’s state arms seller Rosoboronexport is holding talks with five countries interested in buying the Su-57 fifth-generation multirole fighter, Rosoboronexport CEO Alexander Mikheyev said at the MAKS-2021 air show on Tuesday.

"This is one of the world’s best fighters based on its operational characteristics. It undoubtedly has various advantages. Here, at the air show, we will hold a presentation for our partners that will feature the latest aircraft-launched weapons both on external and internal hardpoints. That is why, we expect high demand for this aircraft in coming years. Five countries have already shown interest in this project. We are holding consultations," the chief executive said.

The Su-57 has triggered great interest, considering that a government contract has been signed for this fighter under Russia’s state armament program, the Rosoboronexport chief said, noting that there was fierce competition from US, European and Chinese companies on the world combat aircraft market.

Delegations from about 20 foreign countries have arrived to attend the MAKS air show, Mikheyev said.

Denmark Becomes 4th Largest Donor to Kiev Regime - Russian Ambassador

MOSCOW (Sputnik) - Denmark has moved up to fourth place among donors to the Kiev regime, ahead of such countries as France and Italy, Russian Ambassador to Denmark Vladimir Barbin said in an interview with Sputnik.
"Denmark is in 4th place among donors to the Kiev regime, ahead of countries such as France and Italy," he said.
According to the head of the diplomatic mission, Denmark participates in most NATO programs and coalitions to provide military assistance to Ukraine, trains Ukrainian military personnel, including training flight and technical personnel on F-16 fighters, and has established close cooperation with Ukraine in the production of drones. In addition to F-16 fighters, Ukraine was also given anti-ship missiles, armored personnel carriers, and artillery systems.
"We have repeatedly stated that Denmark's reckless position was leading to an escalation of the conflict and increasing the risks of a direct conflict between NATO and Russia. However, the Danish side has shown no desire to listen to our warnings," he added.

Russian warplanes have obliterated a Ukrainian-held building in the border Kharkov Region where a number of officers were posted, the Defense Ministry in Moscow announced on Monday, releasing video footage of the strike.

The ministry said in a statement that its forces had destroyed a Ukrainian temporary deployment point near the town of Volchansk, which is about six miles from the Russian border. The area around the town has been the scene of fierce fighting since Russia launched its offensive in Kharkov Region to establish a ‘cordon sanitaire’ to protect civilians from repeated shelling.

Officials said that “a powerful blow to the enemy” was delivered after Russian warplanes received target coordinates from reconnaissance and used a glide bomb to attack the facility.

“At the time of the strike, the command staff of one of the Ukrainian Armed Forces units was in the temporary deployment point,” the statement read, without specifying Kiev’s losses.

The video released by the ministry shows what appears to be aerial footage of Volchansk, which has been ravaged by months of fighting. A ramshackle high-rise building in the center is then hit by a gliding projectile, with an explosion so powerful that the ripples from the shockwaves could be seen hundreds of meters away as one of the walls promptly collapsed. Clouds of smoke and dust can then be seen rising from the blast site.
Russia often relies on heavy glide bombs, which can travel dozens of kilometers before accurately hitting their target, to destroy Ukrainian fortified positions and other high-priority installations. Ukrainian officials have described the weapon as posing a “very serious threat,” noting that they are difficult to intercept.

Ukrainian troops in Kursk Region oblivious to being encircled – Putin

Kiev has lost control of some of its forces, the Russian president has claimed

Ukrainian military units in Russia’s Kursk Region, which have been cut off from the border, are apparently not aware how bad their situation is, President Vladimir Putin has said.

On Thursday, Putin claimed during a press conference that up to 2,000 Ukrainian troops had been encircled on Russian soil. In a follow-up interview overnight, published by Russian media on Friday, he made more comments on the situation.

Several Ukrainian units have been cut off in the Russian region, where Kiev had launched a cross-border incursion in August, the president said. The troops themselves and their commanders may underestimate the gravity of the situation, he suggested.

”Our feeling is that the people who were encircled are not fully aware that they are in an encirclement,” he said. Russian intelligence suggests that “stable command and control of the troops has been lost.”

Western intelligence services have trained Ukrainian saboteurs to carry out provocations at Russian nuclear power plants, Moscow’s permanent representative to the UN, Vassily Nebenzia, has claimed.

The attempts by Ukraine to target nuclear facilities inside Russia are “beyond reckless” and could end up plunging the European continent “into a radiation nightmare,” Nebenzia warned during an unofficial meeting of the UN Security Council on Friday.

The authorities in Moscow “have credible information that Western intelligence agencies, primarily the British MI6, have systematically prepared Ukrainian sabotage and reconnaissance groups to organize provocations at nuclear power plants in Russia.”

Among other schemes, Kiev and its foreign backers were working on an operation to blow up power lines connecting the nuclear plants with the Russian national energy grid, the envoy stressed.
