The Verkhovna Rada, with 268 votes in favor, approved a resolution on supporting democracy in Ukraine, which states that the powers of President Volodymyr Zelensky shall continue until the end of martial law.

"The parliament notes that the martial law introduced in Ukraine in connection with a full-scale invasion by the Russian Federation does not allow for elections to be held in accordance with the Constitution of Ukraine. At the same time, the Ukrainian people are united in the fact that such elections should take place after the end of the war," the document says.

The day before, the people's deputies were unable to adopt this resolution due to an insufficient number of votes.
 
Jet fighters armed with nuclear weapons could be posted to Germany as Emmanuel Macron discusses Ukraine’s defence with Donald Trump – The Telegraph

Friedrich Merz has called on Britain and France to extend their nuclear protection as he seeks "independence" for Europe from Donald Trump’s America.

A French official told The Telegraph that deploying fighter jets would send a message to Vladimir Putin, while diplomats in Berlin suggested it would pressure Keir Starmer to do the same.

"Posting a few French nuclear jet fighters in Germany should not be difficult and would send a strong message," the source said.
