The Ukrainian authorities have reported a new wave of Russian missile strikes on the country, with explosions reported in Kiev, Kharkov, Dnepr, and Khmelnitsky regions. The Russian Defense Ministry has yet to comment on the claims.

Sergey Popko, the head of the Kiev military administration, said on Friday morning that a Russian missile attack had damaged a car wash, a private household, and a warehouse, without providing further details. There were no reports of deaths or injuries, he added.

While the official previously claimed that all incoming missiles had been shot down, DTEK energy company said that shell fragments had damaged the power grid and “completely destroyed a transformer substation” in the southern part of the Ukrainian capital.

More extensive damage has been reported in Kharkov, which is not far from the Russian border. Oleg Sinegubov, the head of the local administration, said an attack had killed at least five people, and injured more than 20. He claimed that the barrage had hit a five-story house, an administrative building, and a production facility.

Khmelnitsky Region was also allegedly affected. Sergey Turin, the head of the local administration, said an attack had resulted in a partial blackout, but no casualties or damage to property had been reported.

The authorities in Dnepr reported an attack by a Russian drone, and that the city had also been hit by Russian artillery.

Moscow has reiterated that the attacks exclusively target Ukrainian military facilities, not civilians. The Russian Defense Ministry said last month that it had stepped up strikes on Ukrainian energy infrastructure in response to Kiev’s attacks on Russian oil processing facilities.

Ila fact yabaki kuwa Ukraine itaweza kukosea mahesabu na makombora kupita Belgorod kwenda ndani zaidi ya Russia na hiyo ndo itakuwa vita kamili ya tatu ya Dunia.

Battlegroup North continues to advance deep into enemy’s defenses​

The Ukrainian military suffered losses of up to 225 troops, a tank, six vehicles and an ammunition depot, Sergey Zybinsky, the battlegroup’s spokesman, said

MOSCOW, June 1. /TASS/. Battlegroup Sever (North) units have pressed ahead with their advance deep into the enemy’s defenses over the past 24 hours during the special military operation in Ukraine, Sergey Zybinsky, the battlegroup’s spokesman, told TASS.
"Units of Battlegroup Sever (North) continue advancing deep into the enemy’s defenses. They inflicted damage to manpower and equipment of the 57th motorized infantry brigade, 82nd assault brigade, 125th and 152nd territorial defense brigades of the Ukrainian armed forces near Neskuchnoye, Sinelnikovo, Yurchenkovo, Liptsy, and Tsirkuny. They fought off the enemy assault groups’ four counterattacks near Liptsy and Volchansk," he said.

Russian air defense forces downed 62 Ukrainian drones, 14 HIMARS rockets and three Hammer bombs in the past day, Russia’s Defense Ministry said in a report.

"Air defense systems downed 62 unmanned aerial vehicles, 14 US-supplied HIMARS multiple launch rockets and three French-made Hammer guided aerial bombs over the past day," the report reads.

According to the Defense Ministry, Russian forces delivered a massive strike at Ukrainian power facilities in response to Kiev’s attempts to damage Russian energy infrastructure. "Also, Western weapon depots [in Ukraine] were hit," the ministry said.

Russia’s Battlegroup South took up better forward edge positions, causing Ukrainian forces to sustain roughly 660 casualties, the Russian Defense Ministry reported.


Also, the enemy lost two IFVs, eight cars, two 152mm D-20 howitzers, a 152 mm Msta-B towed howitzer, a US-supplied 105mm M119 gun, a British-made 105 mm L-119 howitzer and a Nota electronic warfare system, the ministry specified.

Among other targets, Russian forces destroyed 36 drones, a Gvozdika self-propelled artillery system and 47 observation posts, he added.
