Trump responds after Ukraine not invited to Russia talks
Someone has just asked Donald Trump to respond to Ukrainians who may be disappointed that officials from their country were not invited to peace talks.
"They've had a seat for three years and a long time before that," responded Trump.
"This could have been settled very easily. Just a half-baked negotiator could have settled this years ago without, I think, the loss of much land and without the loss of any lives and without the loss of cities that are just laying on their side."
Trump said he could have "made a deal" for Ukraine if he were US president when the war broke out.
"I could have made a deal for Ukraine that would have given them almost all of the land," he said.
"Everything, almost all of the land. And no people would have been killed and no city would have been demolished."
