Ndugu yangu ndo hapo jiulize upate jibu. Biblia si msingi wa mafundisho na uendeshaji wa kanisa katoliki. Kanisa katoliki limesheni maagizo ya wanadamu zaidi kuliko maagizo ya MUNGU na linaendesha mambo yake kisiasa zaidi kuliko ki-MUNGU.

Pole zako mazee..inaonekana ukristu mnajifunzaga tu kwa kukariri..Sasa usidhanie na madhehebu mengine tunafanya hivyohivyo mazee. Just chill wakati wengine tunaamini based on what is right na wewe fanya vilevile unavyoona inakufaa..lakini usitake kusuggest kuwa imani yako ni sahihi sana mazee, only to your STUPIDITY.

Mazee a i thought we were clear on this lakini naona unarejea utumbo uleule. Nilikuuliza nioneshe kanisa 'bora' unaloabudu huko ili na sisi tujiunge huko..ukabaki kukwepesha na kuendelea kujitia ujuaji.

Mazee acha kuzungumzia vitu usivyovifahamu na kujitia ualimu wa vipofu..Sasa jibu langu litakalofuata usitegemee USTAARABU maana umelianzisha mwenyewe hili tibwili..

Thank you for this good narration of Mwl. J.K Nyerere I am a Tanzania, a catholic, and very much in love of my country. And as one who lived in the era when Nyerere was President, i am delighted to read so much about him. It was just last moth that I actually managed to visit his Mausoleum, in the backyard of this home vilage (which I am sure you have no idea where that is apart from mentioning the name Bazanaki, correction to you it is Wazanaki), and for me I managed to see a number of miracle while there, that if you want them to be published, I could very much do that.

But the reason I am thanking you in this email is because, finally the process of Nyerere's Canonization (a Catholic term for those to be made Blessed, and eventually saints, I am not sure you know this because you used only the political language in your article), but finally this is working.

In this process, if you did not know, one thing necessary is to have what we call "The Devil's Advocate". Someone who will come up and say, even from all these angelic things that are said about this man you are trying to say he is holy, we know any human being could do them without any extra powers, and that advocate should mention many other things (just like you have done) to say with these, I dont think he can be a holy man.

Now that you have said your mind, the process will begin to take place easily because the team of inquiry will do it's job to find out whetehr those things you mentioned actually happened and if yes, under what circumstances.

Just a little correction on your side. In the catholic church, the 18 stuff you have mentioned, are NOT miracles, they are human actions, and we have countless numner of saints who did things worse than that, St. Peter, St. Augustine, to mention but a few.
The Miracles we are looking for, are happening now, and you actually mentioned it yourself that it should be healing or solving out of a situation not explained scientifically, AFTER the death of the said person.

Winning a War, Rigging elections (it is happening now in Iran, many times in Uganda, you know this Mr. Kaggwa, our friends in Kenya...), leading people to be a unified nation, all these are actions that are done and can be easily explained with any secondary school students, they do that in their examinations every year.

So again, your points are good, and I am glad that, for the president I knew in my life, a person I adored, I can finally begin to hear something negative coming out, and for that sake, you make a very good Devil's Advocate. It's actually another miracle right at our backyard, instead of waiting for one from Rome.

I will let the words of one prominent Tanzanian political analyst in a retort to Professor Paul Collier's "Wars, Guns, and Votes: Democracy in Dangerous Places " drive home my humbling humanization of the now almost deified Nyerere.

Dear Prof. Collier,

I read ``Wars Guns and Votes`` and was struck to read the flowery treatment
you accorded J. Nyerere of Tanzania. You assert that he was successful at
nation building through rhetoric and emphasis on one unifying language.

You have written history books on Tanzania, and you could not possibly forget
that Nyerere was able to maintain national security not by rhetoric and
ideology but also through unlawfulness and autocracy. He detained dissenters
and attorneys general who dared to differ. He sanctioned death camps in
Zanzibar which tortured and butchered many a detractor, ex-ministers and
parliament backbenchers. His political police reputedly re-arrested vindicated
suspects exiting the steps of courtrooms after prevailing against detention
orders brought under the extralegal ``Preventive Detention Act.``

I was a mere schoolboy during the tail end of Nyerere's Tanzania (he had
ruled for a million years before I was born), but I remember the terror, even
though your western readers who may have never heard of the region will be
taken for a good ride here. A book is as accurate as the audience it is
targeting.

Utakatifu wa mwanadamu unapimwa na MUNGU sawa ila maisha ya hapa duniani (hasa matendo) huwa ni kipimo kizuri cha nini utapata mbinguni. ukiwa na matendo mazuri na mfuasi mzuri wa dini, ni hivyo pia utakavyopimwa Mbinguni. Is true in RC you can do anything in this world and yet yu go to heaven by simply praying to God to move you from 'pagatory' to paradise!

I hope everyone would love that! so as wale watoto wa mama mdogo ukijilipua au vipi unakuta wanawali saba wanakusubiri peponi! LOL!

Wewe hicho unaoona kuwa politics sisi wengine ndiyo imani aliyotuachia Bwana Yesu labda utuambie na wewe ni nabii umekuja wahyi mpya kutoka Mungu. ..zaidi ya hapo wewe tulia keti kitako wakati wengine wakiamini wanachoona kina misingi yake ktk mafundisho ya Yesu Kristu.

BTW, hakuna sehemu inayoitwa pagatory, hiyo labda utakuwa umeiunda wewe kutokana na chuki yako kwa Kanisa Katolik, na nachelea unawezaje ukawa na chuki ya namna hiyo na bado unapata guts za kujitilia ndimu kuwa una uelewa wa elimu za rohoni. Shukran sana kwa hili.

AND FINALLY, sisi tulioamini ktk Ukatoliki tunaamini purgatory (check the spelling correctly) ni sehemu ambapo merehemu walio ktk neema ya kimungu lakini not pure enough kuifikia mbingu hadi kifuani kwa Ibrahimu, hupitia kutakaswa kabla kuingia mbinguni. Kama vile tunavyoamini ktk nguvu za maombi za kanisa la mbinguni kwa kanisa la duniani na kanisa la toharani, pia kwa msingi uleule tunaamini nguvu za maombi za kanisa la duniani kwa kanisa la toharani.

Certainly, but God works through people and life events. To be declared saint is not the same as to be declared holy. Sainthood is acknowledged by humans. That's why the Church is always using 'saint' and not 'holy' although the two words signify the same meaning.

Anyway, to be declared saint means to be officially acknolwedged that one is a role model or icon of exemplary probity and integrity. My experience is that humans can tell this.

The catholic Church has a tradition of recognising/honouring its members who have dedicated their lives for the service of God and human beings in honesty and truth. So, if Nyerere is declared saint it is because his life has become examplary to the Church and people and this the catholic Church wants to recognise officially.

So, it is not true that only God should declare someone saint and even if he does it, it is always through human beings because sainthood has to do with humanity.
