General Research Area
Application of Analytical Chemistry techniques in solving environmental pollution problems, including water and air quality problems.
Current research activities:
- Defluoridation of drinking water using local material to solve fluorosis problems.
- Removal of turbidity of domestic, surface water using local plants in ASALs.
- Determination of pesticide residues and heavy/trace metals in water sources.
- Characterization of dispersion of heavy metals through dust, a case study of Lake Nakuru basin.
- Physical-Chemical characterization and purity of indigenous/local salts consumed around Lake Victoria basin, East Africa, funded by VICRES.
