I am not vouching for NDII. He has his style of delivery which rubs many the wrong way..But he certainlty speaks with data..Credible data from WB/IMF or KNBS.Ndii is a great intellectual but he is usually very biased so much. He is a big critic of the Jubilee Govt just like me, but i find him too -ve. He cannot be classified as a neutral Economist.
The institution that could give us very accurate data is the "kenya bureau of statistics", the problem is if they would be transparent enough. IMF may be transparent and open but they release data with hidden agendas plus their sources may not be as accurate as KNBS.
What Aly khan Sachu is doing here is enganging in nonesence, if he was serious, he could have asked IMF to give him the methodology and data points of determining the 17.5% over valuation..Then debate the correctness of the methodogy and point out the mistakes..
Saying IMF is "absurd and alarmist" is not how economist critic data. That is the theater of laymen
