AFC Leopards kicked off their pre-season campaign by beating visiting Tanzanian Premier League side Azam FC 2-1 in a friendly match played at the Nyayo stadium. Leopards' goals came courtesy of Paul Were who later turned supplier for the second goal, which was converted by Mike Baraza at the start of the second period.

Azam, the Tanzanian League side is currently touring Kenya for mid season friendly matches that will also see them play Sofapaka FC on Sunday and KCB on Tuesday.

Azam will blame themselves after only netting one out of the three penalties they were awarded by the center referee. Azam is currently touring Kenya for mid- season build up matches that will also see them play Sofapaka FC tomorrow before taking on KCB on Tuesday.
