All our main source countries like the USA, UK, Germany etc issued travel warnings against Kenya to their citizens. In fact the first quarter of 2008 we received almost no tourists. Like the legendary Phoenix we are, we picked up our pieces and started recovering. All this time Tanzania should have taken advantage and beaten us once and for all - you didn't.😎
Just as we were recovering two years later in 2010, the alshabaab started kidnapping tourists in Lamu and the coast. Their menace continued through turning into terror attacks in 2011, 2012 and reaching their peak with the Westgate tragedy in 2013. Tanzania should have taken advantage and became East Africa's tourists hub. You didn't.🙂🙂
