The rise and fall of Colonel Muamar Gadaffi

Nawashngaa it is as if hamjui ulongo ulikubuhu wa Media za magahribi na hawa Freemasons akina Obama,,,,, .... WAZUNGU NI MAMBWA watu wabaya sana kuliko ukimwi!!!<br />

Ushahidi wa undumilakuwili waanza kufichuka

-On the floor of the intelligence chief's office lay an envelope addressed to Gaddafi's son Saif Al-Islam. Inside, I found what appears to be a summary of a conversation between US congressman Denis Kucinich, who publicly opposed US policy on Libya, and an intermediary for the Libyan leader's son.

Secret files: US officials aided Gaddafi
Al Jazeera uncovers evidence that influential Americans tried to help the now-deposed Libyan leader cling to power.

The destruction by NATO airstrikes of Libya's intelligence headquarters at the heart of Tripoli has transformed the once-feared building into a symbol of how Gaddafi's regime has been all but toppled.

Guarding the compound are dozens of armed rebel fighters, some of them told me their friends and families went missing as a direct result of "intelligence" gathered by those who worked in the building.

It's fair to assume that among the rubble and ransacked offices, are some of the darkest, deepest secrets of Gaddafi's regime. I'm looking for files entitled "Lockerbie" or "IRA", but the place is a mess.

I'm taken to the office of Abdullah Alsinnousi, head of Libya's intelligence service and one of the Gaddafi regime's most notorious and feared strong men.

Scattered on his desk are dozens of documents branded "top secret", but the rebels accompanying me aren't keen on me taking anything away. I find a folder titled "Moussa Alsadr", who was the former head of Hezbollah who went missing in Libya over 30 years ago. Within seconds, the folder is taken by my minder who said none of these documents can leave the compound.

Al-Qaeda and NATO's Islamic Extremists Taking Over Libya

One terror leader in particular, Abdelhakim Belhaj, made headlines around the world over the weekend after it emerged that he was appointed the chief of Tripoli's rebel Military Council. Prior to leading rebel forces against Gaddafi's regime, Belhaj was the founder and leader of the notorious Libyan Islamic Fighting Group (LIFG).

Eventually the terror "Emir," as he has been called, was arrested and tortured as an American prisoner in the terror war. In 2004, according to reports, he was transferred to the Gaddafi regime - then a U.S. terror-war ally... Click here to read More

tulikuwa, tulikuwa.... Leo tupoje?

Libya conflict: Saif al-Islam Gaddafi vows resistance

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi is the most prominent of Muammar Gaddafi's sons

Saif al-Islam Gaddafi, one of fugitive Libyan leader Muammar Gaddafi's sons, has vowed to carry on fighting. In an audio message broadcast on Al-Ray TV, he said his father was fine and the Libyan leadership was fine. He said he was speaking from the outskirts of Tripoli.

The message came minutes after his brother, Saadi, said he had been authorised to negotiate with the National Transitional Council (NTC) to end the fighting in Libya. Libya's interim leaders have made it clear they are not interested in negotiating.

Anti-Gaddafi commanders say they are moving to encircle the city of Sirte, Col Gaddafi's birthplace and one of the few areas of Libya still under the control of Gaddafi loyalists.

But in his message, Saif al-Islam warned against any such attack, saying there were 20,000 armed people ready to defend it.

Saif al-Islam told al-Ray, a Damascus-based station, that he was "speaking from the Tripoli area".

"I would like to assure our brother Libyans everywhere," he said, adding that he had walked through areas of Tripoli on Wednesday afternoon.

"We will soon come to the Green Square to salute you, God willing," he said.

Tripoli's Green Square was renamed Martyrs' Square after rebels entered the capital and overran the Gaddafi compound at Bab al-Aziziya last week.

"The resistance continues and victory is near,"
Saif al-Islam said.

Sigma, are you sure of what you are claiming? How old and where was you at the time the war broke. I was there when Amin invaded Kagera and witnessed his troops being cheered by the people of that area who defied calls by the few TPDF soldiers who urged them to flee to the other side of the Kagera river, only to be brutally killed by the very troops they were cheering after the troops went and sealed the Kagera bridge gateaway. And I was among the few soldiers who attempted hopelessly to stop a large invasion troop that invaded our territory and and I can tell the name of the first Tanzanian combatant who was killed by Amin's soldiers. Yes, Nyerere formally refused to recognize Iddi Amin Regime but to say that it was the Tanzanian Army (the TPDF) that fired the first bullet is utterly lies. To be candid the TPDF soldiers were not in a position of firing the trigger first as they were very few in number (A Company or less if you can understand the military language) compared to Amin's Brigade or so that was just across the border at Mutukula. I was among the small contingent that was placed at Kabweba from the then 10Bn that had its base in Old Shinyanga. More than half of the Batallion members were sent to Mozambique to assist liberation war then under the demised one Colonel Mbuta. This further testifies Nyerere's underestimation of Iddi Amin's motives to one day dare invade Tanzania and the fact that Nyerere did not immobilize any troops for Kagera. Sigma, your challenging your peer to do research and not to pick stories narrated by others; tell us when and how did you conduct your research? I bet you were not in that war and that you are, yourself a victim of picking the stories narrated by others to fulfil their devilish objectives.
As of the economic woes that followed thereafter, I concur with your opponent that, that war brought economic meltdown that forced Mwalimu to abdicate powers five years later. I can tell for sure that before that war Tanzania's economy was better off than any country in East Africa. Before that war Tanzania boasted of trully free education, free medical services at all levels and an illiteracy rate of over 70%.
Again let me put history right. It was not Nyerere's intention to dislodge Amin as many people are now made to believe. The fact is that as Tanzania intended to punish Amin's troops and make sure that it had destroyed Iddi Amin's military infrastructure near our borders, another problem emerged; that was thousands of displaced Uganda citizens who feared Amin's retaliation should the Tanzanian troops withdraw. The vowed to follow the Tanzanian troops to Tanzania as refugees rather than remain there to be butchered by the Amin's brutal soldiers. I believe this was the major reason why Nyerere decided to proceed to Kampala and remove that tyrant form power. Again for those who are just told wrong stories about the war, let me put it right here that during that war we encountered stiff challenges from the Libyan and Palestinian forces that were however overrun by our gallantry forces. I understand we had many captives besides scores of that pro Amin invasion soldiers that died during combat. I heard that Nyerere released them unconditionally to their respective countries despite the fact of Libya's readiness to pay "compensation" for them.
