TRIPOLI, Libya (AP) - The Obama administration offered millions of dollars in new aid to Libya as Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton encouraged the country's unsteady new leadership to commit to a democratic future free of retribution, and acknowledged in unusually blunt terms that the United States would like to see former dictator Moammar Gadhafi dead.
"We hope he can be captured or killed soon so that you don't have to fear him any longer," Clinton told students and others at a town hall-style gathering in the capital city.
Until now, the U.S. has generally avoided saying that Gadhafi should be killed. U.S. officials usually say they want to see him brought to justice, something Clinton also said during her daylong visit.
"I am proud to stand here on the soil of a free Libya," Clinton said. "The United States was proud to stand for you in your fight for freedom and we will continue to stand with you as you continue this journey."
She met with the leader of Libya's Transitional National Council, Mahmoud Jibril, and offered about $11 million in additional aid. The fresh aid boosts Washington's contribution since the uprising against Gadhafi began in February to roughly $135 million.
The new aid package includes medical aid for wounded fighters and additional assistance to secure weaponry that many fear could fall into the hands of terrorists. Aides said the money is meant partly as a pledge to ongoing U.S. support during what will be a difficult passage to free elections and a new government after four decades of dictatorship.
"Now the hard part begins," Clinton said, heading into a meeting with the transitional leaders.

United States of Africa (LVO): The news spread by the propaganda that the rebels entered Bani Walid is untrue, as usual.
After checking with the spokesman of the legitimate government of Libya, Dr. Moussa Ibrahim, we can reconfirm that the NATO mercenaries who tried to approach the city suffered heavy losses life and were forced to flee the fire intensity.
The Dr.Ibramim said:
"Now, mercenaries from NATO, are only bombarding the city from afar. "
Dr. Moussa Ibrahim said :
"Do not believe their lies, every morning they show pictures and say that Bani Walid was controlled, and when we call to check, the city's response is that "we are in a festive ceremony because we have defeated them, and inflicted them heavy losses, and even celebrate with the families of some of them "
Moussa concluded:
"I just contacted Bani Walid and they have assured us of this new and Allah Akbar and Glory to God and victory to Allah"

Katika waafrika, Gaddafi kwangu mimi ameonesha mfano hai. Ndio sababu ,mbali na mapungufu yake, ni kiongozi ambaye ameitoa Libya kutoka ufukara na kuiweka katika chart ya kwenda mbele. Na hakuwa amefanya kwa Libya tu lakini vision yake kwa Afrika pia ilinivutia sana.
Wengine akina Mwalimu, Kwame wa Ghana , Lumumba au Mandela hawakufanikiwa kama huyu bedouin.
Kwa hiyo nasearch na nafikiri naelewa kinachoendela lakini hakuna anaehodhi elimu, maarifa so any help will be highly appreciated.

Vyombo vya habari vya West , wachambuzi na wanasiasa wao ndio wanasema pesa za "Gaddafi" wakati hizo ni sovereign funds za Libya. Fedha za Taifa la Libya na sio za Gaddafi binafsi.

Libyas acting prime minister said Wednesday that ousted leader Moammar Gadhafi is believed to be recruiting fighters from other African countries and preparing for a possible insurgency, hoping to destabilize Libyas new regime.
The comments by Mahmoud Jibril reflected fears that Gadhafi will be able to use friendly relations with neighboring countries cultivated during his more than four decades in power to help him launch a bid to return to power.
Reports have shown that 68 vehicles with at least eight fighters each crossed the Libyan borders to Mali and Gadhafi is hiding in the southern desert, Jibril told reporters.
He said Gadhafi had made a deal with the Hamada tribe, which roams the borders between Chad, Sudan and Libya, to provide 12,000 fighters to enter Libya and start the fight.
Suggesting that the U.S. also was concerned about the possibility, Secretary of State Hillary Rodham Clinton said during a visit to Tripoli Tuesday that she hoped Gadhafi would be captured or killed.
