Uchochezi wa Mohamed Said na dhihaka kwa Wapigania Uhuru wa Tanganyika na Zanzibar

Hapana staajabu kabisa kwasababu unajua kuwa kuna upotoshaji sasa utauliza nini nawe upo katika ''mission''. Mohamed wewe kufahamu jambo si tatizo, tatizo ni pale lile unalolifahamu unataka kulifanya la kweli hata kama halina ukweli na unataka kupotosha hata kama unajua unapotosha.

Mfano, huwezi kuandika kuwa political career ya Nyerere imeanza baada ya kukutana na Abdul Sykes!
Ni wewe wewe uliyeandika kuwa Nyerere alikutana na Dosa katika national conference mwaka 1947.

Hapa si national conference ya chama cha mpira au wapiga soga ni ya chama cha siasa ambacho leo ndio matunda ya kazi yake yanaonekana.

Tunajua kuwa Nyerere alikuwa na harakati akiwa Makerere. Na zaidi ukasema alipokuwa ulaya alikuwa exposed katika international politics. Hilo lilitokea kabla ya kukutana na Sykes.

Sasa unaposema career yake imeanza wakati anakutana na Sykes yaweza kuwa kweli kwa mujibu wako, lakini si kweli kwa mujibu wa historia na mujibu wa maandiko yako.

Hapa ni jitihada za kumdhalilisha Nyerere na kujenga ngazi kwa Sykes. Nasema kila siku historia iandikwe kwa kila mtu na ushiriki wake si kwa kukumiza maneno ilimradi tu yale maana ya kile ulichokusudia.

The bottom line ni kuwa habari zako hazina mtirirko, ni rahisi sana watu kuchanganya watu.
Unafanya hivyo makusudi ili baadaye utakapochemeka agenda yako hakuna wa kuhoji maana una majibu either way.

Muslims without mincing words are now pointing an accusing finger to theChurch particularly the Catholic Church which in connivance with President Nyererefor being anti Islam and for frustrating the hopes and aspirations of Muslims in free Tanganyika, a country they liberated from colonialism in 1961.[1]
History in Revision
Muslims are now organising nationwide mass rallieswhich openly and in live broadcasts denounce the church, criticise the governmentand church agents within the ruling party Chama Cha Mapinduzi (CCM) and the Parliamentfor oppressing Muslims.

Seemingly derogatory words like "pandikizi" (singular)and "mapandikizi" (plural) meaning "turncoats;" or the new coined word "Mfumo Kristo" roughly meaning "Christian dominance" are now part of the Muslim and Swahili vocabulary.

These analogies are used freely in the Muslim media and amongMuslims in every day conversation.

But what usually thrills Muslims and utterly significant showing that times have changed is when in the rallies and in normal discussion Muslims refer to Nyerere hither to known respectfully as "Babawa Taifa" as "Baba wa Kanisa," meaning "Church Elder."

The move by the Catholic Church to make him a saint has not helped matters.

More so it proves all the allegations levelled against Nyerere that he never was anationalist but a Catholic zealot.
Respect and love which Muslims once had for Nyererehas been completely wiped out.

The new generation of Muslims no longer believein the official history of TANU and the propaganda that it was Nyerere who single handed defeated the British.

Mulims instead are honouring the forgotten heroes of independence movement and in so doing invoking emotions particularly in the new generation to stand up against oppression as their forefathers had doneagainst Germans and the British.


[1]Catholics form 76% of all members of Parliament the remaining 24% seatsare divided between Christians of other dominations and Muslims. Muslimscontrol a mere 6% of the seats. Most areas which are underdeveloped in Tanzania mainland are areas with Muslim majority like Kigoma,Tabora, Kilwa, Mtwara, Lindi etc. These areas are now re-examining themselves and are gradually turning into local factions of radical Muslim politics reminiscence of the era of nationalist politics of the 1950s. This could be asource of civil unrest in the very near future. Signs of this have begun to show in the recurrent violent conflicts between Muslims and the government.Tanzania has experienced the Buzuruga Muslim-Sungusungu Conflict (1983), Pork Riots (1993) and Mwembechai Upheaval (1998). In all these conflicts, Muslim blood has been shed. In between these conflicts Muslims have sent several petitions to the governmentrequesting it to look into these problems but all of them have been ignored. Asa result of this Muslims from all regions of Tanzania met in Dar es Salaam at Masjid Tungi in 1990 and issued the Tungi Declaration which among other things stated that Muslim should prepare to defend their rights by all means.
[2]The late Prof. Haroub Othman after reading Sheikh Ali Muhsin's book Conflict and Harmony in Zanzibar and thewriter's book The Life and Times of Abdulwahid Sykes 1924 -1968 The Untold Story of the Muslim Struggle Against British Colonialismin Tanganyika, Minerva Press, London 1998 and having come across hitherto unknown information on Nyerere was devastated because hewas a great admirer of Nyerere as a patriot and a nationalist. The two bookshad painted him differently. Prof. Haroub confronted Nyerere and told him that the allegations in those two works have tarnished his image and he advised himto respond to them. Nyerere never did. Christian lecturers at Dar es SalaamUniversity are discouraging students from making references to those two books.Dr. Harith Ghassany's book KwaheriUkoloni Kwaheri Uhuru, has also come up with more information on Nyererehitherto unknown in the Zanzibar Revolution and the blood bath which followed.

"Tanzania's founder president and father of the nation , the late Mwalimu Julius Kambarage Nyerere, died before his autobiography could begin.
Prof. Ahmed Mohiddin, a former academician, told the East African that three people himself, Prof Haroub Othman, now live in Liberia, and former ambassador Ferdinand Ruhinda one of mwalimu's confidants had earlier approached the late Mwalimu to seek his consent.

He had initially agreed, on that and Prof Othman was to meet him in August 12, 1999 so that we could work on strategy on how we were going to do it. I think he knew his disease was fatal.

Prof Mohiddin who describes Mwalimu as the last revolutionary, said it is sad that he departed without it.

Ambassador Ruhinda said in Dar, "We were going to sit with him whenever he had time, and write his own words and then he would go through the manuscript and correct it because we wanted it to be his own work. It is just bad that he departed before the project could take off"

He added "Actually we were just going to assist him to write, but not for us to write for him; there are so many books that have been written about him that we wanted one from himself.

The three writers who had worked on a framework for the Nyerere Autograph
now have daunting task ahead. "We will have to reorganize ourselves and the work. But it will never be the same again."

Bahati mbaya na Prof Othman akafariki pia. Sasa tunapewa simulizi eti uandishi wa bayografia hii ilikuwa ni kujibu kitabu cha Mzee Saidi. Na mnatakiwa mmeze tu si imesemwa na mwalimu wetu hapa.
 
Mohamed, si umeandika na imeandikwa kwingineko kuwa Nyerere alikuwa katibu wa Tawi Tabora.
Kwani tawi lile lilkuwa la chama cha walimu, wacheza mpira au wafugaji! Jibu ni kuwa kilikuwa chama kile kile alichokiongoza Dr Kyaruzi na Abdul Sykes.

Na huko Makerere alipotaka kuanzisha chama cha TAWA aliambiwa tayari kupo kingine.
Hapa si kuwa alikuwa ameshaanza harakati za kuundoa ukoloni. Unless migomo ya Dockworkers ndiyo harakati pekee ukweli utabaki kuwa Nyerere hakuanza siasa na Abdul Sykes na wala Sykes hakumfundisha siasa.Nitty gritty

Ukitaka kujua harakati zake ni pale alipokuwa na uwezo wa kusoma katiba na kuilinganisha na za washirika wake wengine hadi kubadili chama kuwa movement ya kisiasa kabisa. Hilo liliwezekana kwasababu alikuwa Makerere anasoma na ndicho kilichomtfoautisha na wazee wake na wako aliowakuta Dar.

Hata wewe umeandika kuwa wazee wakow alimtaka kwasababu ya usomi wake.
Usomi huo haukupa Butiama bali Makerere na Scotland na ndio alioutumia ku-tranform siasa za wakati huo kuwa modern politics.

Kuanzia mwaka 1929 hadi 1950 alipokuatana na Sykes, na kuanzia 1952 hadi 1960 tulipopata madaraka ya ndani ni wazi muda aliotumia kuongoza alileta mabadiliko haraka zaidi kuliko muda wa nyuma.

Hili halimfanyi Nyerere awe superior au inferior kwa wengine ni mchanganyiko wa harakati.
Inategemea harakati unazitafsiri vipi lakini kwa mwenye kusoma, kutafakuri na kuelewa harakati ni ujumla wa mambo iwe umaarufu au usomi n.k.

Kuhusu WML ninaposema kugota nina maana hiyo uliyosema kwamba hujui.
Inashangaza unaweza kujua inside information za maeneo kama Laibon wakuu wa nchi walipokuwa wanaongea, habari za wizara ya elimu na funguo za Ikulu zilizoibwa wakati wa Mwinyi lakini la World Muslim League hulijui.
Si wewe Mohamed labda mwingine.

Ni hapo unapoongeza curiosity ya watu wengine kuwa uliwezaje kujua mashirika ya kanisa yaliayoandikishwa nchini wakati hujui WML inayokuhusu.

Unawezaje kujua habari za kanisa kuilazimisha serikali kufanya abcd wakati hujui harakati za Sheikh Rukara ambaye mlikuwa bega kwa bega katika kupigana na ''dhulma''.
Haiwezekani umfahamu Sheikh Malik Mpakistani ushindwe kujua habari za Sheikh Rukara.

Endapo hujui hilo la WML na Rukara,basi la Sheikh Amir na EAMWS utalifahamu vipi?

THERE ARE FIVE COMMON ESCAPE ROUTES,

The first escpe route is to veil the existence of the problem,
When nyerere was stepping down as the president in 1985 he addressed the Muslim question.He acknowledged the promise made to muslims before Tanganyika's Independence;and after saluting their patience,he bravely declared that the imbalances had been removed.I am not aware of anyone else,apart from nyerere who had made that claim.The disadvantage of that position is that it fails to solve the problem,it merely veils its existence by pretending that the problem has been solved.Even if his claim was clearly in error,Nyerere could,at least,be credited for taking the bull by the horns

The second escape route is,both,to acknowledge and to justify,the current imbalances by invoking historical explanations.It is argued that today muslims are grossly underrepresented in education and employment beacuse they wewe grossly underrepresented at the time of tanganyika's independence.In his escape route,above Nyerere avoided this type of begging the question.There has never been any dispute about the religious imbalances at the time of independence.The question was about Tanganyika's solemn commitment to rectify those imbalances.Have the imbalances been removed??..

THIRD ESCAPE ROUTE
Was to make much of the 1969 nationalisation of schools.The muslims question was supposedly to have been resolved because in 1969 Nyerere nationalised mission schools,Since then there has supposedly been no discrimantion in education.This is to confuse methods with results.At best,those are details about methods which were used to address the question.The issue is not which procedures were used,but whether the imbalances have been rectified.In february 1962,and in 1963 for example,muslims had formally complained that the overseas scholarship awards were being denied to qualifying muslims in favour of christians.At the over 95% of those scholarships were given to christians..
Today,after more than 30 years since schools were nationalised,what is the percentage of muslims in overseas scholarship awards?what is the percentage of muslims students in goverment schools and colleges?what was their percentage before the nationalisation of schools?what is the percentage of muslims in key GOVERMENT POSITIONS??
