Uganda -Tanzania Oil Pipeline is still in the dark

Uganda -Tanzania Oil Pipeline is still in the dark

THEY HAVE DECLINED TO PROVIDE FINANCING FOR THIS PROJECT INSPITE OF BEING ONE OF THE LARGEST SHARREHOLDERS OF TOTAL!!

BLACKROCK IS FROM THE U.S. AND AS THE BIDEN ADMINISTRATION IS AGAINST FOSSIL FUEL DEVELOPMENT IT IS HIGHLY UNLIKELEY TO FINANCE THE PROJECT!

The article misled us, Amundi and BlackRock are not having such big influence in TOTAL coz of their share holding.
Just see the link who can influence and dictate terms in the TOTAL company.

I believe while the shareholders can influence total in the decision making of total affairs and also in increasing their stake in total if needed, the crucial players in the project are the BANKS that are expected to provide the financing!! The big banks are reluctant to finance the project because of climate concerns of carbon emissions!!

There are many avenues at TOTAL disposal to mobilise funds to implement the project. If the banks are not ready, then TOTAL can go for debt market.

Let us wait and see; because normally for big projects like this one the usual route is to use a CONSORTIUM of banks to raise funds, in so doing they spread their risk!

EximChina will step in.

cheki amundi kwenye shareholding ni ya ngapi
That ownership breakdown does not add up to 100% as it should. Actually, it doesn't even add up to 15%. How did this pass you before posting?

EximChina will step in.
Cnooc owns a small percentage of the project. So I don't see Exim bank of China funding this project. Even if they do, I don't see them funding the entire project. They may only release a small share of the money. Unless Total sells most of its shares to Cnooc. People in this thread forget that Total is the major shareholder and therefore Total is the one deciding where the money will come from. And Total has already decided that the money will come from western banks and not Chinese banks. So the people in this thread saying that the money will come from Chinese banks are lying. Total wants to borrow money from western banks and is not interested in Chinese banks.

The fact that that ownership breakdown doesn't add up-to 100% says a lot about the article. Who owns the remaining 85% that's not captured in that article?

Sasa unataka tuamini ripoti gani kati ya hizi mbili ulizoleta? Tuamini ile ya kwanza ama hii ya pili? Why are you doing trial and error with statistics?

About this second report, (assuming it's the correct one), it is clearly stated in section (C) just below the table that Amundi holds 8.9% of TOTAL's share capital as of December 31st 2020. Did that pass you as well?

I think this is from the horse's mouth. Amundi has no exclusive rights to dispose any amount of shares also in voting. So CA is no where to be seen in TOTAL affairs as a shareholder. It's just a lender to the project.
