Sometimes the editors confuse things. In this juncture, like yourself, they are confusing the shareholders (promoters) and the stakeholders.
Credit Agricole is just the investment bank that dishes out credit to shareholders. It has no any shares in the project. The promoters/shareholders of the project are TOTAL and CNOOC. If you lift a veil, what you will see is promoters together with their equity capitals. Nadhani tuko pamoja sasa.

Wewe hujielewi na pia huelewi kitu najaribu kukuambia, Credit Agricole is a shareholder in TOTAL and TOTAL is the biggest shareholder in the pipeline. So the Agricole will influence any decision made by TOTAL.

Am not against this oil pipeline lakini hata Mafuta hiwa haisadii wananchi hata kidogo kwa mfano Nigeria, na Kenya ila wanaofaidika ni wanasiasa na kampuni za kigeni kama vile hiyo Total ama Shell.

Una uwezo mdogo sana wa kuelewa mambo haya.
Don't you see third party (passivity) relationship btn AC and TOTAL? AC is just a lender (stakeholder) to TOTAL, and not one of (promoter) shareholders of TOTAL, leave alone the EACOP SPE.

There's no place where TOTAL meets AC in corporate governance and commercial issues. But they only interact in financial closures. If AC decides not to dish out money to project, what TOTAL can do is to approach other bankers or go for debt markets.
