Kama siyo uzee mimi ningekula sahani moja na huyo mtoto wake Ngina!

I have always loved President Zuma's good command of his native traditional kinsmen's dancing style.

His harmonious flow with home-made beats as heaps loosely keep gyrating to the rhythm every other click of a sound from an array of Zulu musical instruments is often just beyond words.

In fact, if I were to be present at this very venue, it would have been so much unpreventable for me to shout at him the wors of ' Mr President, would you please go for your traditional costumes' so as help complete my day's happiness.

Naam, Zuma's unashamed bear-chest dance with a thin linen bottom wear won't just stop the old from envying their energetic youthful age for once.

Pamoja na yote, hata rais wangu naye hakuachwa mbali sana hapa; tatizo tu ni kwamba hakukumbuka kutawanya miguu yake sawa na Mwalimu wake Mzee Zuma alivyofanya hapo pichani.

I have always loved seeing the man on the stage; I just love it!!

He looks more presentable on traditional costumes.Ha ha ha haaa.

Ila Kenyatta amekaa kichekibobu kinoma. Hii pamba aliyopiga hapa ya kiblazamen kichizi!!!

She is rarely seen in the public limelight but the humble soft spoken Kenyan first lady Margaret Wanjiru Kenyatta is not new to the cameras.

Born to former Director Of State Controlled Kenya Railways Corporation Njuguna Gakuo, Margaret went to the prestigious St. Andrews School in Molo, she met her husband Uhuru Kenyatta, who is her best friend in Mombasa and later on tied the knot at Holy Family Basilica in Nairobi in 1989.

According to her friends, she is a noble and simple woman who loves keeping her life normal despite the fact that she is married to the son of the first President of Kenya who is now the President. On a normal day, Margaret would be seen enjoying a cup of coffee at social places in Nairobi.

She is a mother of two sons namely, Jaba and Jomo and one daughter named Ngina. She was also seen recently at The Hague where she accompanied her husband who is the new President elect of Kenya with her son Jomo.

Energy Minister Kiraitu Murungi’s Alliance Party of Kenya has said it will work with the Jubilee coalition in and out of Parliament.

The party, popularly known as “the Mbus,” held its National Executive Council and National Governing Council meeting Wednesday and resolved to formalise its political relationship with Jubilee.

Mr Murungi chaired the meeting at the party headquarters in Lavington, Nairobi that was also attended by five of its newly elected MPs, two senators and one governor. The youngest elected MP, Buuri’s Kinoti Gatobu who vied as an independent candidate also attended the meeting and said he will work with APK.

Mr Murungi who was accompanied by fellow senator elect Lenny Kivuti, Peter Munya (governor, Meru) and APK chairman Titus Ibui said the party will move with speed to conclude necessary coalition agreement with Jubilee.

Mr Murungi downplayed differences between TNA and APK prior to the election saying his party fully supported Mr Kenyatta presidential bid.

“We have delivered a lot of votes for Uhuru Kenyatta,” Mr Murungi said.

He said APK had already started informal negotiations with Jubilee and that the coalition leaders have indicated “they have no problem with us".

“We are already part of Jubilee only that we have not formalised our relationship,” Mr Murungi said.

Mr Ibui said both Jubilee and APK need each other.

“Jubilee will require numbers in the Senate and National Assembly. As fifth strongest party in the House, Jubilee needs us as much as we need them. We are not opportunistic,” Mr Ibui said.

Mr Munya said APK was going strong and that it will benefit Jubilee with numbers.

Former Igembe North MP Ntoitha M’Mithiaru who lost the seat in the March 4 elections said he will file a petition over irregularities.

He said an NGO bribed voters in favour of his opponents, promising them Sh6,000 and a cow if they registered as voters and elected his opponent. Mr M’Mithiaru further said electoral officials in the area removed voters from the queue and held a meeting with them, telling them whom they should vote for.

The APK leaders also praised the move by International Criminal Court (ICC) to drop charges against former Head of Civil Service Francis Muthaura.

The party also asked the court to withdraw charges against President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta and deputy president-elect William Ruto.

“While we welcome the belated decision to withdraw charges against ambassador Muthaura, it is now obvious that the prosecution has no choice but to accept the inevitable and also withdraw unconditionally the charges against His Excellency President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta, deputy President-elect, Hon. William Ruto and others,” Mr Murungi said.

He said the withdrawal of Mr Muthaura’s case “confirms our suspicion that this was a political case that could not stand any serious legal scrutiny".

While applying for the withdrawal of Mr Muthaura’s case, ICC chief prosecutor Fatou Bensouda said key witnesses had either been killed, died or bribed or were too afraid to testify.

A group of political and religious leaders drawn from the Lower Eastern region have declared their support for President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta.

The group comprising former elected and newly elected leaders from Kitui, Machakos and Makueni counties threw its weight behind Mr Kenyatta on Wednesday, pledging to support his new Government.

Led by former Kibwezi MP Philip Kaloki of the Wiper Democratic Movement, the leaders distanced themselves from the intended court suit by the Coalition for Reforms and Democracy (Cord) contesting the presidential results. They instead congratulated Mr Kenyatta's on his election as President.

Meeting at Ole-Sereni hotel in Nairobi after consultations, they said they want to support the Uhuru Kenyatta led government.

"We believe he won with over 6 million votes as was declared by the electoral commission and we want to say we are here to support him," said Prof Kaloki, who lost in the Makueni Governorship race to Prof Kivutha Kibwana of Muungano party.

Prof Kaloki contested on a Wiper Democratic Movement ticket and garnered 79,513votes against Prof Kibwana's 146,534.

Among the close to 300 leaders were former MPs Kiema Kilonzo, Grace Mwewa, Agnes Ndetei, Jackson Mwalulu, Peter Kiilu and MP elect Rachael Nyamai, (Kitui South). Also present were several elected politicians and others who lost in the 2013 General Election together with members of the clergy from the region.

A statement by the group explained that their decision was borne out of appreciation that the country is greater than an individual.

"We want political and economic stability. We want a conducive environment for the new Government to thrive and that is why we are supporting the President-elect," said Prof Kaloki, who served as the secretary of the Wiper Parliamentary Group in the last Parliament.

The group argued that there is always a winner and loser and that CORD can proceed with the court case if it has evidence.

"So far we have not seen any evidence so we are here to congratulate the president elect rather than going out there to look for evidence that is not there," said Prof Kaloki.

The leaders said the decision was meant to show direction to their community.

Prof Kaloki is among Wiper Democratic Movement MPs who were skeptic of the ODM-Wiper agreement that formed the CORD alliance.

Kenyans have spoken, International community is silent and we don't need to hear their voices! this is a Kenyan affair! Presidency is not a merry go round, or an endorsement by international community, but elective position decided by majority of REGISTERED Kenyan voters! Don't look for any other formula!

Senior researcher Tom Wolf attributed this to the strong campaign mechanism the president-elect set in motion to persuade his supporters to vote for him/FILE
NAIROBI, Kenya, – A recent survey indicates that President-elect Uhuru Kenyatta won the March 4 election mainly due to a large turnout of his supporters.According to the study conducted by IPSOS Synovate, the voter turnout from his strongholds stood at 88 percent while that of Prime Minister Raila Odinga stood at 84 percent.

Senior researcher Tom Wolf attributed this to the strong campaign mechanism the president-elect set in motion to persuade his supporters to vote for him.

"In Raila's list of the 20 counties where he did best, He actually had more registered voters than Uhuru did. However, because of the differential turnout average where it was 88 percent in Uhuru's 20 counties but only 84 percent in Raila's 20 counties, the actual vote gap between them disappears in terms of votes cast," he said.

Wolf told reporters that Kenyatta was able to win 75 percent of the votes cast in his top 20 counties while Odinga only got 63 percent.

"Seventy-nine percent of the registered voters in Kenyatta's 19 strongholds voted for him and nine percent did so in Odinga's stronghold. Also, in Odinga's strongholds, only 66 percent of the registered voters voted for him while 10 percent of them voted for Kenyatta," he said.

"This is a 13 percent gap in turnout between the voters in their respective strongholds according to the IEBC (Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission)," he added.

He also pointed out that the president-elect was able to attract more voters in Odinga's vote basket in comparison to the outgoing PM's performance in his.

"In the Jubilee strongholds there were roughly 5.7 million registered voters. Uhuru got four and a half of those while Raila got slightly under half a million. In the Cord strongholds, there were about the same numbers of registered voters of 5.4 million. Likewise, Uhuru got about a half a million, while Raila got significantly less than Uhuru did," he said.

Wolf also pointed out that in areas that were considered to be Odinga's vote basket, Kenyatta garnered 2,080,041 votes.
He compared this with the 1,577,071 votes that Odinga got in Kenyatta's strongholds.

I am seeing RAO and Uhuru still on a campaign mood.......

Other than politicians in the URP, some of Ruto's most visible advisors were lawyers Kipchumba Murkomen and Prof Kithure Kindiki who were elected to the senate. Murkomen and former IIEC commissioner Davis Chirchir joined TNA's legal director Jasper Mbiuki to draw up the agreement that formed the basis of Jubilee Alliance.

Kipchumba Murkomen yumo kwenye timu ya wanasheria nane ambao wanawatetea Uhuru na Rutto hapo katika kesi ya Raila Supreme Court na amechaguliwa seneta kwenye jimbo lake. He is a man to watch in Kenyan politics.
