Kenya as a sovereign country has a right to protect its borders in anyway it sees fit. The army has a mandate to protect the country from external enemies. It will not be the first time kenya has fought somalia over boundary disputes, under said bare somalia tried to launch an insurgency in kenya. They were quashed completely by Kenya and the NFD is still Kenyan territory. Al bashir tried to retake a part that kenya had put as a buffer (enemy triangle), he was quashed by KDF. In short kenya has been invaded by neighbors but it has always used its military to completely quell the attacks.

If somalia continues, Kenya should immediately recognize somaliland as an independent country and upgrade the liaison office in somaliland to an embassy. Then in conjunction with ethiopia we should split southern somalia into Jubaland which should become an independent country too(Their warlord is fighting on the side of KDF against al shabaab). Leave the rest to battle it out we will have created a buffer zone with a leader of our choosing as president.

Actually it's not that they are being deployed.The have been doing patrols in the contested area for a long time now.

Not forgetting that Kenya is also a member and the chair of Contact Group on Piracy off the Coast of Somalia (CGPCS) .
This means Kenya has an overwatch status on Somali waters .
The same way we had been controlling their airspace since 1990.

When have you ever seen Uhuru Seek Parliamentary approval to place KDF anywere within the republic of kenya? For heavens sake he is the CinC, He doesnt need approvals to relocate battalions,Squadrons or infantry Boss Read and understand

For a person who claims to be kenyan, you have very little knowledge of Kenyan law. KDF can not act locally unless an external enemy has moved into the country's borders eg Al shabaab or foreign military,If they are to be deployed locally then parliamentary approval is necessary and the president can not override the parliament if they do not approve. Note the border is Kenyan territory so it is local.


(3) The Defence Forces--

(a) are responsible for the defence and protection of the sovereignty and territorial integrity of the Republic;
(b) shall assist and cooperate with other authorities in situations of emergency or disaster, and report to the National Assembly whenever deployed in such circumstances; and
(c) may be deployed to restore peace in any part of Kenya affected by unrest or instability only with the approval of the National Assembly

Also note there is a difference between moving battalions location and deploying them for active duty within kenya. He can move any military barracks he wants, but he can not deploy them locally without approval of parliament

It is within the mandate of the president and the KDF to protect the integrity of Kenya territory. At this point all options are open i.e dialog and military but Kenya will not accept anything from the ICJ.

We have defeated somalia when said bare was president and he had the support of America and partly Russia, our only ally was britain and we still defeated said bare. Tony254, kama nilivyokuambia katika, 75% ya maamuzi ya serikali ya Kenya ni "wrong". Kama hii habari ni kweli, basi itakua ni kosa lingine kubwa sana, kama mlivyojipeleka Somalia bila kufikiria kwa undani, matokeo yake mnayaona sasa hivi.
